You can read more about our fair usage policy here: Terms of Service. " What exactly happened? I ordered this service solely on "unlimited devices" feature pitch. I have a family of 4, so NordVPN's offer of 10 devices was not enough. I tried to test how SurfShark works on different laptops and different browsers, as I've heard that it works on some, but doesn't work on others. However, on the attempt to connect to 20th "device" (different browser in one of the laptops), my account was blocked. I haven't downloaded anything, haven't visited any harmful websites, haven't made any payments, haven't signed up for anything, haven't done anything that would be considered against rules. - 2025-08-26 12:27 EST I sent email to [email protected] and asked to clarify, what violation of Terms of Service my account was attributed of. - 2025-08-27 03:00 EST I am writing this review (14 hours and 30 minutes+ after) and haven't received any response so far. Expectations vs. Reality: - Expected: unlimited devices (per https://surfshark.com/pricing website, screenshoted). - Reality: account blocked after 20th attempt to connect a device. - Expected: 24/7 customer support (per their email footer: "Need help? Visit our Help Center. Our Success team is ready 24/7."). - Reality: No response for 14 hours and counting. I have worked in customer service field for 18 years and no response on Tuesday for 14 hours is unheard of, when you falsely advertise 24/7 support. Even this year, I resolved 95% of cases in less than 5 minutes in the same ZenDesk platform SurfShark uses. However, not everybody holds themselves to high standards and prioritize customer satisfaction. - Expected: Clear, consice Terms of Service. - Reality: (per https://surfshark.com/terms-of-service website, screenshoted). If you search for word "block" or "blocked" in their Terms of Service or in their Help Center (https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us), nothing is mentioned about user accounts getting blocked and the reasons for that. This sentence from Terms of Service "Take any action that results in an unreasonable load on Surfshark’s infrastructure;" is too vague. What is unreasonable load? You advertise "unlimited devices", but never mention in detail, what is "reasonable" and what is not. - Expected: cooperation and positive customer experience, like, if any rules are breached (especially, in first 60 minutes of user testing your service), to receive a warning email, temporary account block, or other less predatory approach. - Reality: account blocked after 69 minutes of using it without warning. I understand that everybody deserves a chance to correct themselves. I am giving 24 hours (until 2025-08-28 03:00 EST) for SurfShark to respond to my ticket ID #6838291 and offer resolution of this situation. I will update this review by that time.
- (2025-08-26) Its very bad, I often lose connection to the internet entirely until I switch locations. This happens every 4 hours or so. Many of the websites I attempt to connect to are blocked, and I can't use it for my banking even. Things take forever to load using it.

I've tried quite a few other VPN services over the years and this is the only one i've bothered to stick with. the instructions are clear, support is quick- usually within the day if not the next- and they keep on replying until i'm done asking questions. It's great! The live chat feature is one of the more easily-navigated options i've used. I got this service on my first day of college through a discount, and i've stuck with it through multiple schools and jobs with confidence.

Everytime I try to download an app from Europe, it doesn't work. It only works in a browser on the PC. It cannot pass through Google Play Store. So, what is the point? One more thing. The browser can't be Chrome or won't work. It must be Opera, or other browser.

It got me onto one sight I was having trouble accessing because I am overseas, but ever since it wont get onto a simple sight like Delta.com hangs for six to eight hours, turned on, turned off, Chrome, Safari, I even tried updating the surfshark app and get "update error" messages and dozens of times "There was an unexpected issue please contact support" and using FireFox the only browser it's not installed on produces normal access within minutes. As for the incogni added cost doesn't seem to remove sites without asking for more hundreds of US dollars - wish it were better. Stuck with this for 27 months?

Just spent an hour troubleshooting ongoing connection issues only to be told that the mac App no longer works and that I have to use the browser version .. .which is of no use to me. Despite acknowledging it's not what I paid for, they refuse to refund me, get this, stating that the money back guarantee period has passed. Yeah, since when did a company's obligation to deliver on its service end at that point in time. Stay away from these crooks.
