Description from store

The purpose of this extension is to facilitate copying and pasting of text from a webpage such that the copied data includes a hyperlink to the page on which the text appears.

To use this extension in single page mode:
1. On the web page for which you're creating a link, select the text that you want to appear in the destination document. For a news article, this might be the article headline.
2. Click on the icon for this extension. A small window that says "Link copied" will pop up temporarily next to the icon.
3. Paste the text into the destination document. It should appear as a hyperlink to the webpage from which the text was copied.

To use the extension in multiple page mode:
1. Open all the tabs for which you want links.
2. Open gmail.com.
3. While on the gmail.com page, click on the icon for the extension. A small window that says "Multiple links copied" will pop up temporarily next to the icon.
4. Paste the text into the destination document. It should appear as hyperlinks to the webpage in the opened tabs.

If the extension recognizes the domain of the webpage, it will prefix the linked text with a friendly string, e.g. "Boston Globe:"

Special feature for Google docs tabs
1. Attempts to scrape a 350MA LTE header and puts spreadsheet row on clipboard if found

Doesn't appear to work. It only copies the selected text (or page title), but doesn't include the HTML for the link.

I love it. it works perfectly. Jut the "Default" shortcut is not set by default, you have to pick one yourself.

Very simple tool that helps save a few clicks when embedding links in text (E.g., in Outlook to reference external websites). Just select the text on the webpage that you want to have the link embedded, like the title of an article, then click the "Copy As Hyperlink" button (top-right of your browser where the other Chrome extensions are located). Upon pasting, the copied text will be hyperlinked with the URL from the webpage the text was on. Definitely recommend!

This extension does copy the text with link. You will find it when you paste to a rich text editor. If you paste it on a plain text editor, you will only get the selected text. It's pretty reasonable

Simply wonderful! It's not mentioned on this page, however you can simply click the button without selecting anything and it will create a link for the current page. This works in a Google search which is exactly what I required i.e. "Search term" with the link embedded. 10/10 Update: Still one of my favorite extensions, however it would be great if it worked on Google Docs?

I agree with Kould B. It copies the selected text just fine, but the link is nowhere to be found.

kouldb anyone
Yet another extension that claims to copy the link, but fails to do so. It only copies the selected text. But not the link. I absolutely loathe it when developers treat users like fools.

Select some text on a web page, click the icon. It puts the hyperlinked text on the clipboard so that you can paste it into a document. Perfect.
