Finally something that works!

This extension has been working amazingly, always! I'm only uninstalling now as it is obsolete, and has been replaced by a new version, which I have now installed. I think the most useful extension on Chrome if you use Youtube. Before I have this extension, it happened often that during a meeting I click a link youtube and the video starts. I cannot believe there is no way to disable this natively on Youtube. No the autoplay button at the bottom of each video does not work: it is only to avoid to play the next following video. @Google: do you use YouTube? Does not look so...

FYI the extension was blocking my telehealth audio and video (which seem to rely on auto-play), as well as playing videos on sites like the weather channel and cnn (the initial advert would play but the main video wouldn't - again because it was using auto-play to move the process along). My telehealth sessions would work in safari but not chrome and it took some debugging to figure this out. Obviously the extension is not being maintained but if you're wondering whether to use it, I'd say don't. It was wonderful when I installed it (thank you developers) but now technology has changed and it's no longer working on some key types of sites for me. (mid-nov 2023)

Even thought it's not supported anymore, it still worked better than most autoplay blockers. Now it doesn't work on certain sites though, causing my whole computer to freeze when they try to load and play a live streaming video. Generally works on most sites still, but where it doesn't it fails big.

Какое счастье - наконец удалось заткнуть непрошенное видео и звуки на Яндекс Дзене! До этого начинали воспроизводиться со звуком даже превью в ленте Дзена и, чтобы ночью вдруг не заорало какое-то из этих превью, надо было старательно следить, чтобы нечаянно не навести курсор на какое-нибудь превью. Расширения из магазина Оперы не помогли. Большая благодарность разработчикам!

Google Chrome and all other Chromium-based browsers such as Chromium, Brave, Vivaldi and Opera used to have a flag setting that allowed us to disable autoplay for the entire browser, but since Google removed it from Chromium, all other browsers just followed the path and removed it as well. No one re-added or worked in a solution, Brave promised to do something about but haven't done anything till now. Nowadays we'll need to rely on dated and unsupported extensions like this but that still works, at least.

Благодарю! Теперь при загрузке страницы все видео ждут команду, а не самостоятельно воспроизводятся.
