Save image as Type
Save image as PNG, JPG or WebP by context menu on image.
Add context menu for images to save image as PNG, JPG or WebP format.
There is an old Save Image As Type 1.0.5 extension created by another developer but cannot run now. I developed this new extension based on the old one.

Exaclty what I was searching for! Works great ;)
bad work
Works mostly as intended... course, as other users have already pointed out, it's faintly ridiculous that we're basically forced to use an extension to perform what *should*, by all rights, be a DEFAULT function within the web browser... buuuut, hey - that's good old 'goolag' for you... User convenience need not apply!
Been using it for over a year. It does what it says and it just works. That said, it's *very* irritating that it always wants to save the images in the default 'Downloads' folder (I've got mine set to the Desktop) rather than defaulting to the "last place Chrome saved a downloaded file to" like Chrome's built-in "Save image as..." command does. That should be fixed!
This is pretty useful since webp is usually unsupported, but I suggest the creator to add GIFs into the convertible formats if they can
best for me as i need images for my edits
very great i really liked the extension!
Subject: Feature Suggestion: Add a default save format option for "Save Image As JPG/PNG/WebP" extension Dear Development Team, I am a regular user and am very pleased with the "Save Image As JPG/PNG/WebP" extension you have created. It has significantly improved my workflow. I have a small suggestion that I believe could further enhance the user experience. Currently, every time I save an image, I am required to select one of the JPG, PNG, or WebP formats. For users who need to quickly save images and only require a single format (for example, JPG), this can sometimes feel like an unnecessary step. Therefore, I would like to propose that you consider adding an option in the extension's settings that allows users to set a default save format. When this option is enabled, the extension would automatically save images in the chosen format (e.g., JPG) without requiring the user to select it each time. I believe this feature would help users like me save time, streamline our workflow, and make the extension even more convenient. Thank you very much for your hard work and I look forward to your response. Sincerely,
Incredibly helpful, use it all the time. Works great
It's ridiculous that we have to download an extension to get Chrome to stop converting .jpeg and .png files to .webp or .avif files when saving images from the web. Google should be ashamed of themselves that over a million people have had to download an extension for their browser to complete such a simple task.
Very useful extension, but would love to have it save in last save location rather than always defaulting to downloads folder.
Good but sometimes slow, but again very productive
No complaints, quick to install and so so easy to use!
ten out of ten, no complains at all. Straight to the point, no unnecesary bloat.
Why does Google force you to save as Webp? Might switch browsers soon.
Thanks
A handy little tool that simplifies a basic saving task not easily done through the browser 👍 One feedback for the developer: "The app always tries to save each downloaded image to the Downloads folder. It would be helpful if it could remember the previously used folder when downloading multiple images." 💡
Super
Love the extension, my only complaint is when saving it saves as jpeg instead of jpg.
To the man who write this extension: Thank you. I hope your pillows are cold on both side.
Best Extension
Works like a charm, not for all sites but like 89% of them atleast
best exetension oat
Does nothing at all. Does not appear as any option at all.
Most of the time the option is not on right click windows 11
Saves me the effort of googling "png to jpeg". Works well!
Still working perfectly
Awesome. Kudos to the developer
works perfectily on all browsers, exept chrome, it disappears the conext menu shortcut, so you had to un-install and install again to fix
Great App for video Editors
Doesn't have gif
best extension 3.9 is unfair for this extension
that is a good extension
been using this forever, i just saw that it was only rated 3.9 so i came to boost it cuz it deserves better
Original image on server is 357Kb PNG file. When using normal save image as offers only webp format with filesize 357Kb. When saved with extension as PNG filesize is bloated to 1,7Mb and If saved to JPG filesize is 650Kb.
Best extension.
Best Extension, specially for YouTube Thumbnail saving
Love it - so easy to use and does what it says on the tin.
work perfectly, but I want it to remember the place used to be saved.
It works and is a perfect solution for quickly being able to download an image without any in-extension setup. Simple easy right click menu access, ideal.
perfect
Great extension! Saved me a lot of time on webp to png conversions.
It works really great, honestly. I've been using this extension for the past 4 months. I don't get why this product is 3.9 out of 5, but probably because people are complaining about... file placement issue? Whatever that is, it doesn't affect my computer, and it works fine. If you're reading this and wanna get this extension, don't hesitate to download it. I'm sure you don't wanna download those annoying WebP file format.
Hate to navigate 5 folders each time. Why can't save to the last folder instead having to navigate multiple folders each time?
Works as advertised, by adding a separate "save as type" option, so you have to remember to use it. The normal save dialogue will give you the same forced options as before (avif, webp, etc). The one big annoyance is that it does not remember your last save location, so you have to browse to the correct folder. Every. Time.
works great!
very good!!
That's Great :)
GOAT
Fails to do the job. It does add the described option in the right click menu, but still saves as the frigging link instead of the selected format anyways.
