With VoiceIn you can use speech recognition capabilities in ANY textbox on ANY website. VoiceIn uses Google's speech recognition engine, the most accurate Speech To Text technology available today to let you voice type into any website.
After initial installation - it's recommended to close and reopen the browser, so it can work smoothly on all opened tabs.
There are two ways to start dictation:
1) Simply place the mouse in the text-box, and then you can either right-click and choose Start-Recording from the popup menu, or,
2) Simply click on the extension's button right to the address bar. VoiceIn works silently in the background and is always on.
Default recognition language is English-US.
To switch language go to the app's options page on:
chrome-extension://pjnefijmagpdjfhhkpljicbbpicelgko/askforpermissions.html
First time - you'll need to give the extension microphone permissions.
** Note that the app is in Beta currently **
For dictating on Facebook, Stack Overflow, and some other specific websites, you might need to manually type in Space (using your keyboard) and only then start dictation. This is because these sites expects user's keyboard input.

- Incredible plug in. Easy to set up. Easy to use. And it works really well! Highly suggest trying it if you need a reliable voice to text plug in.

- this extension is pretty much flawless. The only reason I haven't subscribed is that I'm really tight for cash. As soon as I can, I'm probably getting the annual. I mapped alt-L to my mouse's DPI button(I never play games anymore) and the recognition is pretty much flawless. Seems as good as whisper, anyway. I doubt I ever hit the 60 minutes of dictation. It takes a LOT of talking to hit that if you constantly toggle dictation for only when you're talking. Before you shell out gobs of cash for a basic voice to text, try this.

- The free version works pretty well in Chrome on my Core 7 laptop. That it doesn't work in the top-end Chrome input line bothered me at first, and VoiceIn has a work-around to make another page your default search page, but I found that cumbersome, so instead, you can just make a bookmark for google.com or even just start typing "google" and when that google.com page appears, Google has it's own Speech to Text icon in the input field in the middle of the page, so I'm good.

- Very slow to pick up the words. Not always getting the words right and does a freaking horrible job with punctuation. That's why I switched to a different speech, to text program. Now I've started using speak! I was very happy with this app when I first got it, but once I found speak, I've got rid of this one. It was really great for the time that I used it, but nowhere near as good as my new one. Speak! Dictate with ease anywhere on the web.

- Voice In has made writing so much easier for me. The speech recognition is fast and accurate, even with long sentences, and it works across different sites without hassle. I use it daily for emails and documents, and it really saves time and keeps me focused.

- The more I use it the better I like it, despite its shortcomings. The recognition is generally excellent, and better than I recall getting from Dragon. There are some things I haven't been able to train it to do right (e.g., "i.e.,") or to recognize some unusual words, but Dragon wasn't perfect in that regard either. I wish I could get it to do backspace and "scratch that", but maybe those things will be added. The excellent recognition for most dictation, and the ability to switch languges make up for any shortcomings, for me at least.

It is wothnoting that Google does not support voice typing inside Sheets, nor Slides. just this feature make Voice In stand out. The installation as an extension on Chrome is fast and simple. Used for data entry is fast compared to manual data entry. Typing words for the skilled typist, on average takes 33 words per minute. This is 1,980 words per hour. When compared to voice typing you can transcribe ten times as much in the same amount of time, and with better accuracy than manual typing. Besides the fact that you get tired of typing and your pace slows down after 2 hours of typing text. When voice typing inside forms that have a field that is a mixture of words and numbers it gets confussed. It depends on your particular use case, but Voice In has a great potential to simplify your work, replacing manual typing. I have not tried voice typing from a mobile phone. Wonder if there is an App for it or only works under Chrome. One final word, Amazing! technology.

- This works great for me. The transcriptions are not perfect, but AI usually understands them if I don't edit them. I'm not a fast typist, so it's an order of magnitude faster than typing.

- I have disabilities and am looking for an assistive extension, and off the bat, it didn't work at all. After 10 minutes, it just got frustrating since it's hard enough navigating normal functioning, just due to a lack of user testing, and the high rating really triggered me. I think this needed to be re-examined for ease of use for all ability levels.

- I was an avid user of this Of this product {comma} but it stopped working this last week and has not been worked on. You can see that instead of inserting a, when I say it–it writes it out like above. This had never been a problem before, and really impacts funcionality of the extension
