When hovering over a note, you will be able to rename the note, archive, delete, and convert the note to a task.

The ClickUp button gives you quick access to the Notepad, Bookmarks, Screenshots, Time Tracking, and creating a task from any webpage.

- ClickUp typically hits the mark or misses it entirely. This app has so much potential, and was better, but two-sync being removed from gmail is very saddening. Most of their priority probably shifted to their new product CU Brain, which makes sense in terms of releasing a new product; however, it shifts capacity from their core product and essentially putting new features behind a separate paywall.

- Showing the error code OAUTH_007, cant even log into my workspace.

- The new extension is not helpful to me. What is the ETA on the updated app being available? 12/04 update: The old extension seems to be working, but seems slower than usual. Thank you ClickUp! The new extension takes too many steps to create an item in my task list, doesn't name the task with the subject line of the email, doesn't give me the option to update the name as the task is being created, and most importantly, doesn't include a link in the email back to the task or show that a task has been created in the email list.

- I love the way this extension works when it works. I tried the new one and it is not the same. I don't like it at all as it is currently. It is missing so much functionality.
- Steve Mizerak
- I tried the new extension--takes entirely too long and you now cannot add attachments in PDF. Fix the PDF thing maybe it's good but this is supposed to go forwards not backwards. Adding emails with attachments was so important.
- Megan Wisdom
- would be great if it ever worked!!!
- Sainaar Sales
- not working again. new extension helps add tasks, but can't show on the email inbox the tasked emails as well as on the email itself like this extension which is great. please fix!!!!
- Natasha Burkhardt
- Like the users and commenters I see around this same date. The app is great, but breaks too often. I get reliant on shooting off task from email, but when the app extension in gmail doesn't work, it makes me wonder if its worth paying for. Reaching out to customer service was no help. Already did the 4 steps repeatedly to get it to work and nothing happening. Wondering if there is another platform that is similar but can support Chrome better.
- Mike Shilts
- I agree with the other comments. When the extension works, it is a great tool to turn an email into a ClickUp task. The extension breaks way too often.
- Jess Duarte
- Just stopped working- have re-installed and re-loaded many times and not working. Can't track gmails for workspace.
- Mark Hoffman
- I'd give it zero stars if I could. It's completely unreliable, needs to be reinstalled daily and just hardly ever works. It's honestly pathetic a company as big and popular as clickup has release something so poor for their customers. Don't understand why they don't fix it when these same problems have been noted for literally years and they sit by and do nothing.
- Ori Adler
- What a great concept when it works. Unfortunately, the most used piece of this extension for me is the Task Creation from Gmail which stops working all to often. Normally a reinstall works. However its not working. I have checked to ensure Chrome is up to date Ensured that the Extension settings are set to allow Email Feature. Checked to allow 3rd party apps and cookies. Cleared Cached. Disallowed Clickup from Chrome Security Settings then reconnected. Reinstalled and nothing has worked. I am a paying user we are not a big company but we have 25 users and all of us use this and yet the support requests seem to go to a black hole regarding this issue for years.

- They must have received literally thousands of pleas to fix this extension so that it continues working after a Chrome upgrade. Yet they continue to publish a broken extension. As paying clients we're very disappointed with this. Message the developers. Fix the extension. Read the uninstall survey - I'm sure hundreds of people have told you about this issue and it continues to be an issue for at least 3 years now that I know of. You're not a backyard operation. You have resources. You have thousands of paying clients. Get to work!

- Just stopped - have re-installed and re-loaded many times and not working and super frustrating as need it for tracking all mails for workspace........!
- GERRIT BUITENDAG
- When it works, it is an absolute gem. But the emphasis is when it works. It is super frustrating to find such good functionality, but not to be able to incorporate it in daily work as it appears to be unstable.
- Liberty Lighten
- When the extension works it's incredible. Unfortunately, it stops worked about once a month and I have to remove and re-download it every time. This has been the case since I started using it over a year ago.
- David Muñoz
- Broken again. This extension is a clear representation of clickup's product policy: lack of proper QA testing which causes things to break all the time and it's the users who are forced to do the QA work by spotting and reporting the bugs. They get fixed after a long while and on the next update, things break again.
- Sara Lin
- Super useful extension when it works. However, every time Chrome is updated, the extension doesn't open. I have to remove and reinstall this extension about every month or so
- Leslie Surel
- This tool would be amazing if it actually worked. Basic features like syncing edits from the extension to ClickUp are unreliable at best. For example, I can open the same notepad item in both the extension and the ClickUp app, but edits made in the extension are not reflected in the note when opened in ClickUp. In fact, ClickUp eventually overwrites the edits with its last saved version. Which makes taking notes in the extension pointless if I want to access them later. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the extension, logged out and back in, cleared caches and cookies, and repeated tests several times. If ClickUp fixes this syncing issue I’d happily use the extension daily and update my rating to 5 stars.

- As the rest of the lot is the same here, it stops working all the time... 8 months later still having troubles, it works for a while and then boom empty window or something like that again, luckily I'm not experiencing any performance issues
- Jeff Moore
- ClickUp tech support should notify user when features disappear or break.
- samar saad
- The clickup extension suddenly stopped working last week , it just blanks when you click on the icon and cant use any feature ,Will it be back ?
- Chris Sondrita
- This extension takes like half of my CPU capacity. I use i7-14700k CPU. I opened Google chrome just 1 tab and bam 50% capacity gone. CPU fan goes crazy noises I thought it's just a clocking issue or something but digging deeper I was able to isolate that when I just disable this extension my CPU would calm down. Not to mention it won't always show up in the email. This has been going on for like months now probably started April
- Andron Ocean
- Be warned that this extension can eat up CPU cycles like you would not believe. This extension was single-handedly bringing my 2020 iMac to a crawl. I expect something is screwy about how it's parsing/checking page content.
- Bartek Gola
- The extension is not working. It keeps disappearing from Gmail when it opens it is just a blank window. I know that company works on new one, but when will be it availble? Current one does not work
- Joshua Okonkwo
- I thought "Track time" was broken in this extension because I couldn't see my tasks. Turns out you have to first turn on "time tracking" in your spaces settings before you can use time tracking feature. Clickup needs better documentation, and a "help" AI chatbot that can help users. There are too many nice features, but new users will struggle.
- Vincent Minnaar
- Loved using this extension but now as most have reported, blank pop-up and removed from all emails previously linked. I have tried everything but nothing works. Hopefully this gets sorted out soon.
- Pierre Lagrange
- keeps disappearing from my gmail, and not clear how to put it back!
- Ken Y
- Massive CPU/battery drain on my M3 Macbook Air...unfortunate. I guess it's not a priority for ClickUp management.
- Daniel Barter
- Current version of the extension causes my chrome to run at up to/over 140% CPU power. (Chrome is at 7-9% without the extension running). Is a useful extension if it worked properly (creating new tasks directly from emails was great in the past), but now my comp currently overheats and massively slows down when its on, reducing my productivity. Needs some proper investigation from their team and a new, performance tested version released.
- David Dunn
- I like the extension. I like the functionality. But I cannot use it because it causes my browser to eat tons of CPU power. When the extension is uninstalled, Brave runs at around 3-10%. When it is installed, it shoots up to over 144%. Similar results with Chrome. This extension is "free," at the hidden expense of reducing the life of your laptop due to overheating.
- Nicolas Kyramarios
- This extension would be very useful if it worked. It only works briefly after a new installation and then stops working after a few calls. It then has to be uninstalled and reinstalled. Also, the search within the extension only works partially. Please fix it, as it is necessary for the efficient use of ClickUp.
- Dico Duba
- The only thing I was using this extension for was to put emails into clickup tasks. This functionality has been broken for the past two months, and there is no sign of a fix being made. Edit: Recently this extension has started using 100% of my cpu for no apparent reason. I am not sure if it is extreme incompetence in how it is set up, or if they added a crypto miner to the extension, but I have reported the extension as malicious to be reviewed.
- Kazi Sumon
- I am really upset, I have been used to with the extension but it's now not working that's really interrupt daily jobs.
- Roeland Schoppers
- Completely stopped working - just get a white screen. Tried reinstalling etc. Completely sabotaging the habit / process i had implemented for myself.
- Michael Moeri
- The extension is great when it works, but it is constantly crashing and needing reinstallation. Now it doesn't even work at all and just gives blank white pop ups when trying to install and login.
- EJ Zuniga
- Intermittently working, and then now I can't access the extension within my email completely!
- L Hirsch
- Love Clickup but suddenly lost the ability to see the clickup button at the corner, and seeing them in my emails. That's something I really need! Any help for this?
- Alan Blumenfeld
- I love ClickUp, it has been a game-changer for work. They have made changes and upgrades to the extension that allows for seamless integration between the app, Gmail and Google Chrome. Awesome app and I would recommend it for anyone
- Andres Vitela
- Stopped working in Edge with their latest update. 😒
- Laura Buker
- Great extension WHEN it works which unfortunately is not often. Like someone said, CU is great when it works but their QA is no bueno and I'm forced to spend countless amounts of time submitting bugs. We are doing their testing work and paying for it. When it does work/the things that do work are great. I am 1000000% convinced they don't use their own product. There is now way they would tolerate the endless bugs, glitches, poor UI/UX design and features that are just plain unusable like their Whiteboard. CU has A LOT of potential but they really need to get their act together.
- Alison Reed
- I've only been using the extension for a few days but can already tell it may be the single most useful productivity/organization tool I've found in a long time. The ability to attach emails to to-do list items, or to create new tasks without leaving email, is a game changer. I haven't had any issues with having to reinstall (it's only been a few days), but my feeling is that even if I have to reinstall often, this app will 100% be worth it.
- Greg Southcombe
- Great when it works but in the space of 1 month I have had to remove and reinstall this extension 3 times so far and on the last and current attempt I can't get the extension to work properly at all when it comes to attaching emails (from Gmail) to an existing task and this is a function I use all the time. ClickUp is great but this extension is unreliable and frustrating. Update 31st March 2025 - I've just deleted and reinstalled this extension for the (I've stopped counting) gazillionth time.
- István Móni
- It should be reinstalled at least once a month. It's frustrating.
- Leslie Kernisan
- Sigh. As everyone else notes: requires deleting and reinstalling every few weeks. Super annoying, but I do it because when it's working, I really like how easy it is to add a screenshot into a clickup comment. I also use email clipping feature.
- Jim Garner
- Why is this extension, and by extension, ClickUp in general, only rated at 2.x stars? Makes me nervous about even trying the app.
- Greg Southcombe
- It's frustrating (and ironic) that an app I pay for that promises efficiency wastes so much my time on a frequent and regular basis deleting and reinstalling the Chrome extension because it keeps failing. I've long given up reporting it.
- David Muñoz
- This extension is a clear representation of clickup's product policy: lack of proper QA testing before launching updates which causes things to break all the time and it's the users who are forced to do the QA work by spotting and reporting the bugs. They get fixed after a long while and on the next update, things break again.
- Rimantas Kuodys
- Time tracking is buggy - doesnt stop, cannot be extended with comment
- Alaina Frederick
- Please update this extension! I'm tired of having to remove and reinstall. I want to love ClickUp but there are so many bugs lately it's frustrating.
