Adblock Plus - free ad blocker
Description from store

Adblock Plus is among the most popular and trusted free ad blockers with over 500 million downloads. A favorite ad blocker among users since 2006, Adblock Plus lets you block ads and enjoy a better browsing experience on YouTube and your other favorite sites.

Looking for an alternative adblocker to uBlock Origin? We are and always will be Chrome-compatible with the latest MV3 updates.

➤ Download Adblock Plus and access these free ad-blocking features:

● Block annoying ads like pop-ups, video ads, and banners.
● Block third-party trackers and keep your information more private from advertisers.
● Reduce cyber fraud from malicious ads with viruses and phishing scams that compromise your device and target your accounts.
● Personalize your browsing by choosing what to block and what to allow.
● Enjoy free and responsive support from our team!

➤ Get more from your adblocker and take more control over your browsing experience when you upgrade to Premium:

● Block more than ads and say goodbye to auto-play videos that follow as you browse, newsletter pop-ups, survey requests, and more.
● Hide cookie banners and get where you’re going faster when you stop seeing those pesky pop-ups that ask you to accept cookies on sites.

Adblock Plus functions as an adblock for YouTube and other sites the moment you install the extension allowing you to browse the web how you want. You can customize your settings once you install the extension, pin it to your toolbar, and open the menu. In some cases, ads may be displayed on YouTube or other sites. Learn more about blocking ads on YouTube: https://adblockplus.org/youtube. If you need to pause AdBlock Plus, open the extension and click ‘pause on this site’.

Our extension helps keep content free for users by showing some nonintrusive ads that comply with the Acceptable Ads Standard (www.acceptableads.com) by default. If you do not wish to see Acceptable Ads, this can be turned off at any time: https://adblockplus.org/acceptable-ads#optout.

Please note: When installing Adblock Plus, you will receive a warning that the extension will receive access to your browsing history and data. This is a standard message - we NEVER collect any user information.

We prioritize user privacy and security, ensuring your browsing history and personal information remain private. By downloading and installing this extension, you agree to our Terms of Use: https://adblockplus.org/terms and our Privacy Policy https://adblockplus.org/privacy.

This adblock extension is also available for Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Opera.

still see ads

Hey, guess what, devs? If you pop up an advertisement every time I open Chrome, YOU ARE NOT BLOCKING ADS, YOU ARE THE SOURCE OF THEM! Sometimes this obnoxious extension opens a tab and switches to it while I'm in the middle of writing an email. Who gave you permission to open a tab on my browser? Who gave you permission to give it focus? Who gave you permission to be more obnoxious and intrusive than the ads you are supposed to block? No, I'm not paying your exorbitant price for Adblock. YOU LOST THE THREAD. Uninstalled.

Wouldn't load into my Chrome. Message: "The extension failed to load properly. It might not be able to intercept network requests." Why?

I used to deal with popups from my sites and shows, and things, afraid I'd get malware virus and just overall tired of the ads taking my browser over and popping up, I went and searched for a hopefully free ad-blocker, and found this one, and I can safely say: it is great, it works perfectly, doesn't take up space and I haven't had a single popup!!

I got this because Grammarly was hounding me for money with pop-ups that were both annoying and intrusive. It's helping to stop those, but now Adblocker itself is doing the same thing. I only installed it yesterday so if it becomes a regular problem, I'll uninstall it. Pushiness doesn't get you anywhere!

keeps skipping my ytb shorts videos for no reason

Doesn't work consistently. Not all ads are blocked.

I find it ironic that an extension that is supposed to block ads and pop-ups constantly opens up a new browser tab and interrupts my browsing to ask for money and tell me how great they are. The application works fine but you are guilty of doing the exact thing we are using you for. If you don't want to provide a free service, then stop being part of the problem.

Free and works well; gets blocked by websites sometimes here and there, but for a free extension on a student account, it is good enough.
Anonymous
very good at blocking ads but sometimes pops up randomly in middle of a website which is negotiable

Anyone else see the irony in Adblock Plus putting pop up ads for, err, Adblock Plus up on my web browser? Also, I'm tired of the constant crowing about how many ads you've blocked for ME. You haven't blocked any ads for ME if I haven't even logged onto my computer for a week.

Causing popups and opening new tabs.... changing one problem for another

great at blocking ads but it reminds you that it exists every so often with a popup window which feels a lot like an ad

The Element picker simply doesn't work— it can’t pick a specific element to block!
Anonymous
still a good adblocker but now spams you with a new page saying "we blocked this many ads, please pay us money" which is annoying as hell when you're working on things.
Anonymous
Consistently opens a tab on your mobile device and on desktop adds in their own Ad in place of ads they block. I did not get an AD BLOCKER to get ADS. They can screw off with this. Everyone else should look for other, better, less intrusive ad blockers.

Dont Download it has virus now

CONTAINS ADS IF YOU DON'T PAY. If you get this add-on and you don't pay for it, every single time you open Chrome you will get an ad from Adblock Plus that appears over whatever you're doing: "We have blocked (however many) ads for you! Focus on what really matters and say goodbye to distractions with Adblock Plus Premium." It will redirect you away from the page you're working on, sometimes it does it multiple times. This is an adblock with its own adverts. Scroll down and thumbs up all the comments below highlighting this so people know before they choose to install it.

what's the point? Most websites can detect this software and then make us turn off Adblock. Until your software can work without alerting the original website, it's pretty much useless. Came back to us when you have something. Here's a suggestion because I want websites to make money so they can continue to provide free information - why not "block" or freeze automatic launching advertising videos on websites, or the audio ones, or the ads that block stuff in the background. I don't care if there are ads - I just want those ads to behave and stop annoying me. I would make a one time payment for an adblocker that would work that way.

Most websites now work around it, not good any more.

After purchasing AdBlock Plus, EndNote Click is greyed out. If the free version works for you, leave well enough alone. Don't pay for the Plus.

Very good

Decently blocks ads but now I get spammed by the program itself asking for money

Barely working now. They seem to have slipped on countering anti-ADB blocking. I used to wait a day, and bingo, it was working again. Then it was two, then 3 days, now it's a week of barely working. The popup ads in the middle of a vid are so annoying. Never knew before they were there, and they're all left wing ads!
Anonymous
Not as good as it used to be. The addition of their own popup ad has really become an inconvenience.

Really really useful. Saves a lot of time by skipping ads. Makes work a lot quicker. Works on all pages (has blocked a total of 26,146 ads for me). Very efficient. Strongly recommended by me. Cannot imagine my life without this. Thanks a lot Elisa Junges for creating this.

Phenomenal product

It is absolutely working overtime and while yes it sometimes doesnt work, there isnt anything beside it. 5 star, thank you for your contribution to help us protect from a hydra of AD's

some websites it works some it dont. constantly have to reload a webpage for it to work
Anonymous
Awful. Now shows ads to upgrade. Thinks that you should pay money after it has taken away hundreds of millions of dollars from website publishers and has now become as annoying as what it is meant to block.
Anonymous
It sucks. Half the time it won't block ads.

very good!

Shows so many ads, so continuously. Also seems to be taking bribes from sites like Youtube to show their ads. Cannot recommend.

I've used AdBlock Plus since college and it's the only browser extension that actually does effectively block ads on webpages. I like how if there are any ads that AdBlock misses, you have the option to add it to the block list by clicking on the AdBlock Plus extension icon, clicking "Block Element," then click on the ad you want gone. A window pops-up with the url of the ad asking you to confirm. You click "Block" and poof! It's gone! I am so tired of the stupid cookie pop-ups, so I decided to upgrade to Premium. For $40/year, it's totally worth it in my opinion! Plus, I'm glad to help the AdBlock Plus group out financially. I'm sure they put a lot of time and effort into it. I recommend AdBlock Plus to everybody I know if the topic ever comes-up!

I find it kind of ironic that Adblock Plus displays more pop-up ads than anyone else. I would also note that I tried the paid subscription and couldn't justify the cost. So, two suggestions: 1) stop the pop-up ads for the paid; and 2) if you want me to buy the paid subscription communicate the value!
