(2025-08-28) It is very distracting to have random tabs open as advertisements for Adblock Plus. That is not only hypocritical on the part of the extension's developers, but it is a huge workflow disruption as well. I would accept something much more understated that does NOT open a separate tab and does NOT interrupt the work I'm doing in the browser (e.g., critical reading). The current behavior of interrupting is THE reason I will not donate to the plug-in's developers. If they correct course, would consider donating in the future.

(2025-08-27) Adblock Plus used to be good. Now they just bow down to Google Chrome and lick their boots. Doesn't even do a good job at blocking ads. And they want money for premium service? Get out of here. uBlock Origin was the supreme adblocker and they took that away from us (on Chrome). Adblock Plus does not even deserve to be in uBlock Origin's shadow. Nowhere close to the same league.

(2025-08-14) Seems to actually block ads, but the constant requesting for donations in a new tab every time I open my browser is annoying and there is no option to turn it off. Can't disable the extension's ability to open a new tab. can't set the url as an ad that needs blocking. the settings offer no way to disable it either. I've kept abp installed for years and I'm finally fed up with it. It's annoying as hell and distracts me from what I opened my browser for in the first place (which, most definitely, wasn't to pay for ad blocking. I might as well reinstall ublock because it actually blocks ALL ads for FREE and it's not even supported anymore. You know what? I was gonna go two stars, but now I'm going one. I hope google is paying them well to annoy their users.

(2025-08-07) Works everywhere but Youtube - I either end up with a grey screen on youtube videos that says "Error 4 this video cannot be found" (which goes away when you disable ABP on youtube), or it just lets the ads play. In the past, it worked fine on Youtube. I think they are just one step ahead and preventing ABPs system from working on YT. YT aside, great extension that does exactly what it promises - even with the free version. No annoying, obnoxious ads. Hopefully someday it'll even block those annoying payware blockers on news articles.
