- Dark Mode Didn't Convince Me – Migration Impossible Due to UI Scalability/Usability. I attempted to switch from LastPass to Bitwarden solely for the Dark Mode feature. Unfortunately, the data import process is unstable; a single error interrupts the entire migration. Important LastPass site exceptions (like "do not offer to save" and autocomplete exceptions) are not migrated. I found a lack of security features and settings (under accounts) and no password version history. Most critically: the record editing windows are small, non-responsive, and inflexible across all versions (web, extension, and desktop). If you only need Bitwarden for a basic password, it's fine. But if you have large entries in the Notes field, it's torture to review them. In contrast, LastPass offers a "Maximize" option which is truly excellent. Verdict: Dark mode is not worth compromising fundamental usability and migration stability.

- BEST free one

- Definitely on a downslope quality wise. There was the bug with the handling of Passkeys and now a mess about updating passwords of all similar entered other the one being used :/ Disappointed.

- The situation has deteriorated to the point where the program perceives that I am resetting my password repeatedly. The program is no longer functioning effectively. I believe it is appropriate to consider transitioning to an alternative solution.

- The quality is quickly going downhill. The latest in a string of issues is the "shield" logo covering text elements that are not username or password fields, causing users to be unable to see what they are typing. Google reviews doesn't allow me to attach screenshots, but suffice it to say it is beyond annoying.

- This is better than Lastpass Password manager.

- Bitwarden works well for me as I use both Android and macOS. Just wish it didn't ask to update passwords that have not been changed. This problem is on extensions for Safari and Brave.

- Often gets in way of autofill selection, for some site, the selector is not working/showing

- Using for 3 years. Its the best one!

- Extension is easy to use and works consistently!

- Frustrated, this used to be amazing - recent versions have slowed down my browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Brave) and more importantly WordPress page builders like Beaver Builder which it causes to almost freeze it's so slow, all Bitwarden's fault. I can see on the group forums others frustrated and Bitwarden seem slow at finding a fix.

- Every time I use the autofill the extension asks if I want to "update existing login". Very annoying - this started happening recently (noticed it on Windows and chrome browser!

- Works fairly well but it keeps forgetting my vault timeout and that I want to use a pin-code. Very frustrating

- Integration between desktop app and extension is not supported under linux, and the grace period of the extension is not working.. so endless filling in the master password during a day's work almost useless

- Used to be great, but since the implementation of HTTPS only, it's become useless. Was using it only on my local server and within my local network. Not anymore. Absolute junk decision to go with https only.

- Umm. No. I have uninstalled it. It consumes sooooo much RAM, but that's only half of it. It is buggy as others have reported. It slows down other extensions and the entire browsing experience. I already have a fast PC. This isn't unacceptable.

- Ughhhh, just in the last Month I have been seeing & noticing that Bitwarden Password Manager will no longer autofill my Username & Password Credentials for Yahoo Mail or AOL Email. I can click on the Bitwarden Password Manager Logo over & over again with no success!! Even when I click inside the Bitdefender Vault & tell it to fill my Credentials for Yahoo or AOL, I get an Error stating "Unable to autofill the selected on this Page. Copy & Paste the Information Instead." This is quite annoying & is beginning to make me think that the useful & steady performance that I have depended on & had with the free Bitwarden Password Manager for 4 Years now is fading & getting downgraded/worse instead of the same or better. That which will in fact, have me switching to another free Password Manager if this persistent issue continues or I start having & seeing this same problem with my other Web Logins while trying to autofill my Credentials using Bitwarden Password Manager. It was once great in the past but is starting to fail as I am seeing & figuring out in the past Month or so...

- Half the time the extension will auto suggest a password without actually saving to your vault afterwards. If you don't have that basic functionality to auto save new passwords reliably, why bother auto suggesting?

- Incredible free app, you're doing great, keep it up! I love how they can monetize without stripping excellent features like passkey, encrypted notes, auto fill etc. Another great thing they don't limit the number of passwords stored.

- Good but poort UI. Sometimes the input box auto-suggestion overlaps the website's auto-suggestion dropdowns, and there's no way to remove the Bitwarden auto-suggestion box.

- simply the best among all

- It's a great tool to store and manage passwords for web, ssh logins and whatever else. Can be used by novices as well as profis - just deploys i's features in line with user's developing interests and skills. Has a self-hosted version for better privacy.

- I have to disable the plugin on a wordpress configuration page, possibly because it has a large number of controls. I've turned off all of the autofill, but it freezes the page unless the plugin is fully deactivated.

- Becoming glitchy now.The more I use it, the more I find it frustrating. I usually have to go the BPM website instead. Often it won't auto fill even when I manually search and select the appropriate username and pw. It is quite RAM intensive. It needs a forced fill option or just a fix for this issue where it doesn't usually auto-fill. My issue might be related to what user zhen fang has reported. I think for auto-fill Roboform can't be beat. but it's not free. Avoid LastPass.

- The process for adding passwords is ok, aswell as maintaining them. However, I have many passwords stored. The search-functionality is truly dreadful. I mean really 💩 Also, in the olden days, I was able to select the password and 2FA key from within the username/password field of the website. For a few months now, I always need to go to the addon-icon at the top of the screen to select. Seems like a downgrade.

- I've disabled it for now because when I start typing on reddit and You Tube the letters don't appear immediately but with delay and when I use backspace or delete to wipe the text it's very slow at doing so. It's the same for the Firefox extension.

- Cant add new passwords or update existing ones. Does not sync with other devices (eg. if you add a new login on your phone, it will not sync on your laptop browser. You literally have to uninstall and reinstall the extension for it to sync up)

- Cant update passwords. Makes password management more of a burden. Not well designed.

- Excellent product. Everything works as expected. But, keyboard shortcut to do autofill is not working
- Anonymous
- Very glitchy. Identity autofill doesn't work most of the time.

- awesome, but there is a problem with search in latest version. It doesn't work

- The password autofill function doesn't work. Useless. Very buggy

- They dont care that the generation of passwords is garbage and ignores your settings.

- 4 star rating, it's helpful at times and not at somtimes.

- It will not auto-fill on any page now - Vers 2025.9.0. Pointless now, will have to look for another!

- The pop-up to 'unlock to save password' when locked ... Sigh. WHY can't this be an option to enable or disable? Nothing more frustrating then working on something and suddenly having a prompt/pop-up take over. I already HAVE disabled 'offer to save passwords' - why on earth would I want it to tell me to unlock the extension to save a password WHEN I DO NOT WANT THE PASSWORDS SAVED UNTIL I EXPLICITLY WANT TO SAVE PASSWORDS? ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Not that Bitwarden cares, but I am looking for a new service. *I realize this was implemented a while back, but luckily for me, it did not affect me until more recently so I didn't realize that this stupid 'feature' was added in 2022-ish.

- This is a great extension that makes my password more secure.

- You should not have permission to update unless you ask me!

- I always use Bitwarden, But it have some bug currently. The case is: When the page loaded and the Input-box of the page donen't show autofull drop-down selection box. and have other case, showed the autofull selection box, but, on my cursor want to touch it and moved, the selection box will disappear suddenly

- In general I like the extension, except this one specific thing that I genuinely hate. Why can't Favorities be at the top? Or in separate tab? This situation makes me incredibly sad and frustrated.
- Anonymous
- It keeps locking up. After I unlock it with a pin not everytime but sometimes there is a spinning wheel that never ends and what I have to do it disable the extension and enable again and it recovers. But quite annoying. Everything else is working great but that freezing problem is quite a pain to live with. It seems they have had that problem for quite a while well over a year and still there.
