Toggle 21:9 Video on Disney Plus to be full screen on Ultrawide monitors (Removes Black Bars)
Adds a button to chrome toolbar to toggle fullscreen scaling of Disney plus video on Ultrawide Monitors which at the moment, is not supported.
This is useful for 21:9 titles (most movies on disney plus), where letterboxing occurs, resulting in the titles no longer having the black bars on the side and top, allowing you to utilise the full size of your ultrawide monitor for a better viewing experience.
Simply add the extension, and click the new button while viewing a disney plus movie to see the effect.

- (2023-08-22) Gabriel Soares: I'm using it on Opera GX and whenever the Disney+ UI disappears, the video seems to lose some FPS. Please, fix that!

- (2023-06-16) Daniel: Era tudo que eu precisava, quem fez isso é um genio, muito bom!
- (2023-06-13) Austin Gosch: Shoutout to the developer for at least trying to fix this issue. But it only works if you stay out of fullscreen. Otherwise, as others have said, it just stretches the width - therefore not eliminating the overall issue at all.
- (2023-06-05) Leonardo Cavalcante: NOSSA MTO BOM, FUNCIONA EM OUTROS STREAMINGS!
- (2023-05-23) Cezary Banaszek: The solution is quite wack, yes it does cover the full width of my ultrawide screen but only because the video gets stretched horizontally but not vertically which distorts proportions.
- (2023-03-27) Wolf Elkan: Feature request: Since Disney+ has a handful of titles that switch between aspect ratios (looking at you WandaVision) would it be possible to have a mode where the extension detects the aspect ratio of whatever you're watching and switches on and off automatically?
- (2023-02-25) Steven Bucaille: Doesn't work on 3440*1440 resolution in full screen
- (2023-02-24) Buy Extension Chrome: Hello I see this extension has been inactive for many years. I want to repurchase it. We can trade through any intermediary you know, as long as it's reputable. If the owner sees it, please message me back email: [email protected]
- (2023-02-02) Cameron Bess (bluffamuchuck): Lately this extension has issues when going full screen. Here is a workaround to get it to work: -go to "chrome://flags" -search for "Choose ANGLE graphics backend" -select "D3D9" Now it should be fixed!
- (2023-01-31) Neil Wang: the subtitle is still missing
- (2023-01-29) Clara Lim: how do i even reset it, if it doesn't work, it just stenches the media you're playing.
- (2023-01-29) Joey Sommerville: It does indeed work and removes the black bars but then when you press fullscreen on a 21:9 monitor it then stretches the imaage and the back bars top and bottom become the problem? I just want my piture to touch ever edge of my monitor....
- (2023-01-28) Maïssane BAKRI: It works but takes subtitiles off so maybe an update is needed to fix that.
- (2023-01-19) Julian Megson: It's been working great but doesn't work anymore. It stretches the video width but not top to bottom and so the black bars remain. I notice there hasn't been any updates to the extension so I reckon something has changed in Chrome. But I'm not really qualified to say. I just know it doesn't work anymore.
- (2023-01-13) Ian Austin: It has worked for me for months, but suddenly all it does is stretch the video length wise leaving black bars at the bottom and stretching the image out
- (2022-12-10) Benjamin Nissl: Works great but subtitles go missing when fullscreen. They kinda move out of the screen
- (2022-11-27) Daniel Heuer: Works, but once enabled, the subtitles no longer function. Could you please fix this?
- (2022-11-09) Kamil Stafiniak: Subtitles in fullscreen still not working in 2.3. I found other extension that handles this. This one is not bad if you don't use sibtitles
- (2022-10-07) Adam Richardson: Great work! It works awesome! I did find that the subtitles do not work on full screen though. I developed a workaround. It is the JavaScript that is changing the width and height of the subtitle overlay. To make it work every time without changing it manually, create a JavaScript override in Chrome by finding the hls-player.js and replacing this: const { width: n, height: i } = e.getBoundingClientRect(), { width: r, height: a } = t.getBoundingClientRect(); (n === r && i === a) || ((t.style.width = n + "px"), (t.style.height = i + "px")); with this: ((t.style.width = document.documentElement.clientWidth + "px"), (t.style.height = document.documentElement.clientHeight + "px")); That way it just gets the full viewport size instead of the goofy stuff that it is doing to get the getBoundingClientRect value. I am not sure why they did it this way but it works for me now perfectly, even after a reload. Great app! Consider finding a way to do this through the extension, if possible.
- (2022-09-19) Liviu Ilea: It's a really good extension (thank you developer!) but even in version 2.3, subtitles won't work when going to full screen. Only after a page refresh the subs appear again, but if you use the plugin and go to full screen again (or F11 for that matter) the same thing happens.
- (2022-09-08) Miguel Ángel López Vicente: Estirar estira bien, pero no se me ven los subtítulos.
- (2022-09-04) Nolynn James: gotta love how disney plus is like "mmm yes file is in 21:9... better add a Disney+ logo and not put it in 21:9, keep it in 16:9 so that all content is in our logo's aspect ratio"
- (2022-09-01) Sebastian Luke: It's a really good extension (thank you developer!) but even in version 2.3, subtitles won't work when going to full screen. Only after a page refresh the subs appear again, but if you use the plugin and go to full screen again (or F11 for that matter) the same thing happens. It would be lovely if the subs could be fixed :)
- (2022-08-28) Marthin: Works as promised. However subtitles wont work with this plugin (they disappears) , so I had to uninstall it. Shame, I will return back when this issue will be solved.
- (2022-08-10) Krzysiek Oleśków: I've just whole mandalorian season with video on maybe half of a screen to now find that extension? Works beautifully!
- (2022-08-08) Γιώργος Bαμβακέρης: No subtitles whrn the extension is enabled. 1 star.
- (2022-08-05) Nicholas Pap: when you enable it, subtitles stops to work...
- (2022-02-19) Lucas Kerunk: Subtitles are not displayed when activating the extension and full screen.
- (2022-02-18) Jia-Lun Liu: This is very useful! But the subtitle is not working on my device. Does anyone's work?
- (2022-02-08) cj t: Works well, very simple to use Sometimes the subtitles appear in the middle of the screen making it hard to watch
- (2022-01-25) Christian Florian Göbel: quando coloca em tela cheia a legenda some
- (2022-01-13) Fernando Quirino: Perfect but need to allow subtitles. When using the extension it disappears with subtitles.
- (2022-01-13) Alexander Elwell: Best flipping extension on the chrome store. How disney haven't incorporated it i don't know.
- (2022-01-13) Noor Hazman Bin Sulaimee: They say the subtitle issue was fixed, but not for me. Whenever i switch to full screen the subtitles disappear
- (2022-01-12) Shadab Ahmad: doesn't work in full screen, works on clicking the extension when not in full screen but as soon as i try to go full screen the black bars are back, useless app
- (2021-12-15) Anton Drachuk: worked seamlessly
- (2021-12-15) Saulo Vinícius: Remove the position: absolute from subtitles and it will be perfect
- (2021-12-09) Jayson Gallardo: Exactly what I was looking for. The only problem is that I think it affects subtitles. FYI, to get subtitles back, open dev tools (CTRL+SHIFT+I), then search for the subtitle element (CTRL+F, then type "subtitle"). Then look over at the styles tab. You'll want to edit the "element.style" - change width and height to the size of your screen (e.g. width: 3440px; height: 1440px;)
