  • (2024-08-24) Andromeda: UPDATE Aug 24, 2024: Really really slow to load in chrome on macos. So far works better than lastpass. No major issues or hiccups yet.
  • (2024-06-05) Sanjay Magotra: It was meant to make life easy, but it's pain to use and unwieldy. Constantly coming in the way of itself. I have been persevering with it for two years and will be dropping its use after I finish writing this review.
  • (2024-05-13) P F: This is a review update. I'm now down to one star, for some reason the chrome extension takes forever to load everything was updated, I don't understand so frustrating. I'll be moving to something else.
  • (2024-05-13) David Gonzalez: Someone explain this to me please: How on earth 1P, an app that is 100% dependent on tags to organize your data, doesn’t fully support tags on the Chrome extension? Sure, there is full support for tags in the desktop app, but in many situations, you can’t install the desktop app and must rely completely on the Chrome extension, like in a work environment where the programs you install are controlled by your company. When you just have access to the Chrome extension it: 1. Doesn’t show you a list of your tags. 2. (EDIT 2024-05-13) This was implemented months ago so now point 2 isn't relevant anymore: (Even worst, it doesn’t autocomplete your tags from your tag list when you are adding a new login!) Until they release full support for tags on the Chrome extension it is going to receive only 1 star from me. Every other decent password manager on earth offer full support for tags or folders on their browser extension, 1P is the only one that doesn’t do it. ======= EDIT 2024-05-13 Since the extension now offers partial support for tag autocomplete when creating a new login I will rise its score from 1 to 3 stars. But there is still much work to do to bring features like a full list of tags and support tag autocomplete when editing a vault entry when only the Chrome extension is available. The method used today when you edit an entry in the browser extension is that you get forwarded to the 1password.com website where the support of tags autocomplete is zero.
  • (2024-05-02) Maneesh Sutar: Good, they fixed the broken extension 3 months later
  • (2024-04-27) Anirudh S: This is an extremely useful extension and I use it daily. I love 1Password and find it very much worth the cost of admission. I have found it endlessly useful every single day for storing documents, ID details, notes and other important things in addition to, of course, passwords. I have almost zero complaints
  • (2024-04-03) Curt: It's been over a year since the last review and none of the previous problems occur now. 1Password has issued many updates to the extension since then and the software has worked flawlessly. Many thanks to the folks at the company for their hard work to resolve the issues from last year. ◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆ OLD REVIEW - POSTED FEBRUARY 17, 2023 Continuous Sync problems. Extension randomly stops syncing with vault and even uninstalling and reinstalling does not sync it. A screen with spinning wheel pops up and then another screen to login to 1Password and then back to the spinning wheel. We have the family package and 2 Chrome profiles. My wife's has no such problems. This only started about three or four days ago.
  • (2024-03-20) James Jorgenson: Could be better. Sometimes when using suggested password from 1password to create a password on a new login it doesnt fill the suggested password correctly into the new password fields on the website i'm trying to set the password for so whatever password gets set is not the one that 1password actually suggested. I'm then forced to go through a password reset process on that login so i can get back into it and set yet ANOTHER new password. I was stuck in this loop after I reset a login three times i decided to use a shorter, simpler password and then add it manually into 1password after I created it. Very frustrating experience. Another annoyance is that I am supposed to get a free family account with my company's subscription. However, payment lapsed for 24 hours on our corporate account and as a result of our account being frozen temporarily, my personal family account was forced into a 14 day free trial after which i have to pay for the product, despite my company making payment and restoring access on our corporate account, i have no way to get my personal family account covered by the corporate account any longer which is frustrating because I'm not going to pay for this product personally when 1password entitles me to have it free as part of the business account. Due to several frustrations, this is a solid 3 star product. If the developer can improve some of these frustrations I would rate it higher. For now, a solid 3 star product.
  • (2024-02-09) Sandro Garoffolo: With version 2.20.0, every 2 minutes opens a tab asking password also I'm already logged in the extension. The only thing I can do is to log out from the extension and don't use it.
  • (2024-01-13) Matty Eberhard: 5/5
  • (2024-01-12) Romeo R: Stopped working after last update on Oct 12. Every time I need to use it, I am asked to type in the master password. Doesn't follow the settings to keep 1Password unlocked. Fingerprint support disappeared. Please fix this extension once and for all. Every time I need to log in to any website, I am asked for the master password. Fingerprint sign in to 1Password no longer works on Chrome/Mac OS and it hasn't been working for more than a month. Is the developer reading these reviews? 1/12/2024: Are you ever going to fix this and restore fingerprint unlock on Chrome for macOS? This is absolutely ridiculous. With so many similar reviews reporting the exact same issue, and no response from developer. What's going on? Your extension is unusable. Might as well remove it if you don't feel like adding a fix.
  • (2023-12-22) José M S: v.2.18.2 goes Offline too often. The version 2.18.1 fixed that and you added the issue again on 2.18.2. Please fix it again or add an option to unlock the extension with a PIN code instead of the Master Password
  • (2023-11-25) Duncan Michael-MacGregor: I keep getting errors saying that new website login details cannot be saved to 1Password. Very frustrating!
  • (2023-11-13) Ste: I do not recommend 1password anymore. I have supporting this company since 2012 and have paid for all their upgrades. They have decided to go the paid subscription way and therefor locked out all the loyal users that have supported them for all these year. The one password extension is rendered useless and the only way I can use it is if I GIVE THEM MORE MONEY... I am done with greedy corporations and their stupid paid subscriptions.
  • (2023-11-11) Rockie Steventon: Works Great, using Opera and found I was needing to Install the app to get the extension to work. I have had no issues using it at all
  • (2023-11-07) Y: Works great, after removing the old extension from your browser and installing/setting up the new one.
  • (2023-11-06) Dave Lu: Is anyone else unable to unlock 1password via the chrome extension? Steps to reproduce: - Ensure 1password mac app is closed/locked - In Chrome, click 1password icon in login form - Wait for 1password mac app to open up - Submit my 1password master password - The 1password mac app closes, I'm returned to Chrome Expected: The login form is filled in Actual: The login form is still empty. The 1password icon is still there. I can repeat steps 2-5 endlessly, and never log in (extremely frustrating, cause I had no idea what I was doing wrong). If I open the mac app after step 5, I'm still prompted for my master password. It took me a long time to figure out a workaround: - Login to the mac app, and leave the window open BEFORE clicking on the 1password icon in Chrome - Disable the "Connect with 1Password in the browser" option in the mac app, so Chrome doesn't bring up the 1password app in the first place macOS: Ventura v13.6 1Password: 8.10.18 Chrome: 118.0.5993.117
  • (2023-11-06) Dominic O'Connor: Long-time 1Password user and supporter, but since the 8.0 release it's become much clunkier. I have to unlock 1Password multiple times in the desktop app and in the extension
  • (2023-11-03) Jane: I am on my second week of the continued frustrating process of getting signed in. The Plug-in is a PLUG OUT! I have raved and been a proponent of 1Password for years. I would love the plug-in to behave. It used to be my friend. Now, it's my nemesis. HELP!
  • (2023-11-02) Sam Greenberg: Opens unnecessary windows and doesn't close them generator history doesn't work update password doesn't work makes working painful
  • (2023-10-31) Rene Sorto: No problem at all! Great extension!!
  • (2023-10-31) Darragh Carroll: Recently stopped working well. I'm now prompted to sign in multiple times per day and every time I select the extension I'm sent a push notification. The only way to get around this is by opening the web page and verifying from there. This only lasts a few hours before I'm back to square one. Seems to be related to the fingerprint verification method as I've only been having issues since that feature was rolled out.
  • (2023-10-31) Maciej M: This plugin is absolute garbage, it does not work. Asks you to reload the browser every time and then when you select the credential from dropdown it does not populate. I don't know how you can screw up your core functionality so badly.
  • (2023-10-29) Birsen: is not user friendly. You must change your password manually in 1pass. While we have a family account, my teens couldn't use it. In short: bad buy
  • (2023-10-26) Mateusz Gawliński: After a few minutes from launching browser the extension stops working. Clicking on the icon freezes it in a hovered state but nothing else happens. You can click it multiple times to un-hover and hover it again but it doesn't help. Restarting the extension or even removing it from the browser and downloading again doesn't help. There are no errors in the extension's inspector console. The only thing that fixes the problem is to restart the browser but obviously I'm not gonna do that 38 times a day. This became so annoying that I'm seriously starting to look for a different password provider. Besides that, the extension used to show a little icon next to the login/password fields but it stopped doing it a long time ago. I have to manually click the extension icon at the top bar whenever I want to fill a username/password.
  • (2023-10-25) Matthew C: Does not work in chrome browsers anymore after the last update. Extremely frustrating..
  • (2023-10-22) Romain Guillemot: Super gestionnaire de mdp
  • (2023-10-21) Samuel Rodda: seemless login into experience across my whole computer. I've always been confused at the low rating of the extension. I've used it in the Brave Browser, Chrome browers, and Edge browers. No issues! Far better than any other offering on the market I've tried (Bitwarden & Lastpass). The whole experience in 1password is amazing! Security is top notice and the implenentation of 2FA inside the app is a game changer!
  • (2023-10-19) Artem Farazei: Since the last update it refuses to fill in emails/user names. Very frustrating.
  • (2023-10-16) Maciej Kociałkowski: It works very well for me. I recommend.
  • (2023-10-13) Therese Relucio: The popup boxes generated in each form (related or not to what it is suggesting) are very intrusive and block my form fields/take up screen real estate.
  • (2023-10-12) iEngineer Glory (iEngineerGlory): The extension works great but I would love to be able to use touch ID.
  • (2023-10-12) Jay Jeszenka: There are several settings to manage login timeouts. The problem is they are NOT the default settings and unless you know where they are, you will not find them easily. I have been told by support that they are working on better integration across multiple browsers (since 2021 and it is now 2023) I get logged out frequently during the day because I use more than 1 chrome browser profile at a time. My solution - I pay for RoboForm (as a backup password app) and so that I can log into 1password several times a day. Still waiting form more than 2 years to drop one of them ...
  • (2023-10-05) James Gonzalez: The support for this application is phenomenal! Will continue to use this <3
  • (2023-10-03) Jiun Wang: I found a community post about a a user experiencing the extension to be "offline" and these same steps helped me with the same problem. I agree that this problem should not be an issue from the beginning, but it appears the current solution is easy and quick to resolve. Please try the following steps: 1. Right click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar and choose Settings. 2. Under General, disable "Integrate with 1Password app". 3. Under Accounts & Vaults, sign out of your account. 4. Sign back into your account. 5. Go back to General, and re-enable "Integrate with 1Password app". (Source: https://1password.community/discussion/142453/chrome-extension-offline)
  • (2023-10-02) Rachel Wallace: The worst password manager I've had the displeasure of being forced to use. It takes longer to get a saved password from 1password than it does to just reset the password if you forgot it. The interface is mind-bogglingly unintuitive, the hotkeys to autofill don't actually autofill anything, just open the clunky interface that blocks everything. I thought last pass was bad, but this is somehow SO MUCH worse. It actually has frustrated me to the point of angry tears on 6 separate occasions just in one month. If you read this, heed my warning. DON'T USE 1PASSWORD. You'll thank me later.
  • (2023-09-28) Paul Seyfert: app keeps forgetting the secret key for me.
  • (2023-09-25) Peter L: Horrible stability. Sometimes it works to sync passwords and save new passwords, other times it doesn't. Really dissapointed that they've dropped the ball on literally the only piece of 1Pass that users use every day...filling / saving passwords as they visit websites. I've literally spent more time enabling/disabling adding/removing quitting/opening 1Pass than I spend using websites. Why will it not simply pop up a window asking to save a password after I log in, like it used to...and like every other password manager in the history of the world?
  • (2023-09-25) Florian Streise: Please, fix the god damn extention!!! It crashes all the time!!!
  • (2023-09-25) the famousdjx: Just finished the 14 day trial its not too bad but it hurt when they immediately freeze all usability and need to pay straightaway for a basic auto fill. Endless emails reminding me I need to pay everyday that really annoyed me. hated typing in my master password too. Now Im on bitwarden and it feels like im light years away into the future. Can login to my computer through my phones face id so no more typing, no more logo polluting every input field i simply use my shortcuts to auto fill. I've moved to bitwarden and not looking back!
  • (2023-09-25) Tango (迷藏): 经常损坏, 动不动卡死
  • (2023-09-24) Evan: Makes me unlock my 1Password vault to use a security key. Doesn't work with the Japanese input source.
  • (2023-09-21) Danny Aponte: I honestly don't understand all the hate on the previous reviews here. Been using 1Password for over 6 months, and was very hesitant with the browser extension because of its low stars. After 6 months of pro use for both work and personal, it's been a dream. App + Extension integration is flawless, sharing with others is easy, and saving and creating passwords within the browser is a great experience. Using it on Mac and Windows laptops, using Brave, Safari, Chrome, and Edge.
  • (2023-09-21) Christopher Cieri: My place of work requires us to use this app for password protection. When attempting to change a PW from the password extension, I am prompted to sign in b/c I was not 'fully' signed in. I provide the necessary password to get in, but I am not redirected to the vault and instead it just re-opens the vault extension. Super not helpful. Fix this please.
  • (2023-09-19) TJ: Honestly 1password has been revolutionary for me. So much so that I even pay for it now where I never paid for Lastpass because that interface got in my way more than not and it felt like they were trying to use darkpatterns to get me to pay rather than just being a good app with perks worth paying for. Not sure where all the downvotes on it being unreliable or not autofilling correctly are coming from and I've never had an issue adding or removing devices (and I've now been using it for 3 years). Honestly, I feel this is the most reliable and useable password manager I've ever used (and I've been working in tech for a couple decades so I've used a few). I'm rather mobile (as in remote) and it's even handled my online/offline unreliability well, synching quickly when I have added a credential set on one device but not another. It even feels easier to create and add new creds than Lastpass and has a nice way of organising things in different vaults. Had some issues back in the day, but since then I feel like it's stabilised. Don't know anything about their new no password initiative but after working in tech so long, I stay away from the new in a production environment until I know it's tried and tested (and my day to day work and online time are prod to me)
  • (2023-09-19) Tim O'Brien: Been relying on this for years, and it works well. I was curious if I was running the latest version, so I checked out the extensions page, and I found a whole collection of one and two star ratings calling out the stability of this extension. What's strange is that I haven't experience *any* stability issues. It's been the single mosst reliable thing I'm using over the years and I'd recommend the Chrome extension 100%. My theory is that the Chrome web store might just be getting clobbered by marketing bots trying to downvote extensions.
  • (2023-09-19) willworknow: Too complex...nothing is in one location. Hard to setup multiple devices.
  • (2023-09-17) Joshua Raney: It crashes all the time and is hit or miss on saving passwords and autofill. I should have gone with another password manager.
  • (2023-09-16) Wayne Coburn: The latest version of the extension interferes with passkeys and yubikeys in ways that will lock you out of everything. The work around is to right-click on the extension and go to "settings." Scroll down to Autofill. Then find "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys" and disable it. Why this wasn't found in testing is terrifying, because they must not be testing the extension before releasing it into the wild.
