- (2025-08-18) horrible extension not actually saving entries when using it.
- (2025-08-14) Horribly inconvenient. Makes you constantly log back in. It has options to stay unlocked but only if you have the desktop app which does me no good on a Chromebook or phone. Uninstalling.
- (2025-08-14) It is horrible! Doesn't matter what options I turn off, that popup offering to save password doesn't go away. I turned the notifications off, but it always asks to save password, even on OAuth screens where there are no passwords to save. I hate so much this extension and this service, but it is enforced in the company I work for.
- (2025-08-13) I've had 1Password for over a year now, and while it serves basic needs, I find it cumbersome and sometimes impossible to figure out how to make it do what I need it to do. For instance, it used to autofill my credit card information, but now the card number is truncated and I can't get the edit to fix it. Frustrating. Other autofill features are not happening because I can't figure out how to make them work.
- (2025-08-13) The recent update pegs the CPU at 100% in Chrome on MacOS, and makes quitting Chrome impossible without force-quit. Disabling the extension makes the problem go away, and re-enabling it brings it back so the problem is definitely with this extension.
- (2025-08-07) dumb thing barely recognizes when theres a password to put in.
- (2025-08-07) Have been using it for about 6 months and it's been great. However, on 6th August 2025, something changed and it appears that Microsoft 1Password will ONLY talk to Microsoft Edge. So the Chrome extension has suddenly become unusable.
- (2025-08-06) Always has been fairly reliable. However whatever update happened, the GUI is much more unresponsive and requires more input
- (2025-08-05) This extension is a life saver and works well. The key is to properly set up in the right order. First, install the app on your computer and log in, then install the extension. If needing to change user account for 1password, you have to delete the extension, delete the app, and look for the permanent files left behind by the app and delete it (search online for the name of the file that holds account info, find it in the hidden files in your computer and delete it). Then, reinstall it and login to the new account.
- (2025-08-05) The extension works fine and it hasn't crashed at all. I'm happy with 1Password
- (2025-08-04) Constant chrome keyboard shortcut issues make this extension the most troublesome that our company uses.
- (2025-07-31) it continuosly crashed on chrome browser! Very frustrating having to repair it multiple times a day. Great when it doesnt crash though.
- (2025-07-29) I've been using 1Password for years. I love the app. But the latest plugin update made its performance worse. - The autofill from the plugin doesn't instantly work. I always had to reload a web page everytime I need to use it. - The plugin doesn't automatically sync. I had to uninstall and re-install it again just for new data from the app to show up. - Saving new password from the plugin just won't work. When I entered new password to a web page, a pop-up appeared offering to save it but it always failed and I ended up having to save the password manually from the app. It supposed to help with productivity but it ended up making me doing extra work.
- (2025-07-28) I don't recommand it. It crashes a lot, and you had to reinstall it. When it doesn't crash it works SOMETIMES :-( If you're not in luck, and autofill doesn't work, you had to use the desktop application.
- (2025-07-25) I've used 1password for many many years. It works well. I don't know what some others are talking about it being slow and having to login a bunch (there are settings for that.)
- (2025-07-24) Not great. Can be hard to use, has issue with auto populating passwords, and the UI is poorly designed.
- (2025-07-24) Works, but OMG is this thing soooooooooo slow!
- (2025-07-23) Has been very stable for over a year. Recently after installing the Beta (then unstalled and reinstalled not beta) ongoing problems. 1. With Beta Chrome kept crashing. 2. With Not Beta the extension keeps getting corrupted and needs repair. Which occasionally causes chrome to crash.. Other times it works okay until it needs repair. I barely have any extensions the only new one I have is McAfee. I am now testing by not having McAfee active to see if that solves the issue. Even if it does browsing without proetction from a leading Antivirus company is not good. Supports test involves using a new not signed in Chrome profile but can't tell me how I actually get through my day without my bookmarks, google apps like calendar and contacts etc. So...not doing that test.
- (2025-07-21) If it works it's ok, but I need to login in 10 times a day, even though the 1password app on my mac is running and unlocked. And then the login screen is turning for 10s every time before I can enter the password.
- (2025-07-21) When it works, it's great, but it has so many unpredictable issues that it almost makes it more of a curse than a blessing. Syncing issues, terrible suggestions based on domains, doesn't popup when you actually need it and obscures what you are trying to read half the time or just flat-out doesn't work. This could be good, but frankly the issues that occur 5% of the time undo all the good work the rest of the time
- (2025-07-19) I have installed the 1password extension but there is no information on what to do next. I cannot see the extension and don't know how to access it or use it.
- (2025-07-18) Works great on Chrome and Brave. Thank God they finally added login with a QR code.
- (2025-07-17) Great app, extension, and company! Very satisfied overall. 1Password simplifies my life so much. Passkey storage is clutch.
- (2025-07-11) Frequently unresponsive. Clicking the icon just opens a blank window. Had to reinstall to fix it. Doesn't understand that it shouldn't auto-login when there's a captcha. Great when it works.
- (2025-07-07) This extension is both annoyingly intrusive and hopelessly incompetent. It will try to inject itself all over the web, changing the browsing experience for worse. 1password will pop up everywhere, regardless if it can actually help or not. It is just very loud. It also handles events terribly, with its overlay disappearing while you are interacting with it. They for some reason decided to put their multi-category scrollable list of passwords in a tiny window so it takes so much effort to find anything useful in there. If you are not forced to use it by your work place, avoid it in wide circle.
- (2025-07-02) Absolutely no user related issues - accessing through Edge and Chrome with no problems. Happy with needing to log in after periods of no use (good security measures) Easy to navigate between company vaults and my own private vault Best part - i only have to remember 1 password
- (2025-06-29) Annoying browser issue makes it frequently unusable saying unable to login due to Chrome update. Even after updating Chrome and restarting browser the issue still does not resolve itself. Have to reinstall extension is the only way.
- (2025-06-27) I've installed this extension to not have to type my passwords anymore, yet I have to type my master password all the time!!! Its a total fail, it should be working along with the Windows app and be unlocked if I unlock the app with my PIN but is not. Is locked all the time so I have to save my password in a text note and copy it all the time
- (2025-06-24) Hard to navigate. I use the basic info in password but auto fill and other enhancements are difficult to complete. Online help is not immediate and by the time I try to resolve an issue Ive moved on to other projects requiring my attention
- (2025-06-24) Just doesn't work well or consistently. There are always some issues or bugs. Last 4 months it just wouldn't open at all for new passwords. You could get the old saved ones to fill into websites okay but wouldn't let me save any new ones because of some "can't connect to server" error. Reached out to the helpdesk and they said it may be because I'm not connected to the internet (LOL). FIx the bugs and make it run as seamlessly as Google Password manager and maybe then your extension will have more than 3 star-rating...
- (2025-06-23) Will change to 5 star when the browser extension login issue is resolved. Very annoying.
- (2025-06-20) Switched from Dashlane—can these two even be compared? Even if Dashlane were free, 1Password would still offer better value for what you pay. This app just works—and it works really well across all devices.
- (2025-06-16) Works well but so annoying because of the thousands of time it need a login in a day
- (2025-06-12) I need to delete and reinstall the extension almost every other day. Also, it would be helpful to have an option to hide the autofill on certain pages (not sites or domains but temporary), as it currently blocks autocomplete inputs like addresses and other similar fields.
- (2025-06-10) Does not even sync; takes really really long to show new entries that were added on other devices. What a terrible product. Continuous deterioration since 1password 7.
- (2025-06-08) Just doesn't work well. I have to click on the Chrome Extension three times to get fingerprint access. First time nothing happens. The second time it asks for the password. The third time I get the fingerprint option. So annoying I've ended up reverting to the Apple passwords app and extension on the Mac.
- (2025-06-06) Extension often fails to add passwords even when 1Password desktop is logged in. Clicking on the extension button in Chrome in these instances causes my whole system to freeze requiring hard reset.
- (2025-06-04) In addition to all the bugs withe the extension you cannot choose your email alias or mask provider or bring your domain, like in Bitwarden or Proton. They scam you into FastMail, which is the only option starting at $60/year, from which they get a cut. I would love to be able to choose my own provider with an API key like Addy, Duck, or Firefox.
- (2025-06-04) Extension breaks on Google chrome every day, and you have to delete and download every time. Computer and browser are up to date, fix it been weeks now
- (2025-06-03) Impossible to log in. And I write this as a media professional, a digital native used to working with all sorts of software/platforms
- (2025-06-02) Shows a completely blank white screen for an unlimited amount of time, including after quitting and restarting Chrome.
- (2025-06-02) Don't get a new device or reset your device. You will loose the ability to autofill or even find your apps from the extension. Garbage app.
- (2025-06-02) Hey, do you want a plugin that puts a popup over text fields so you can no longer see what you're typing? On EVERY ^&£*ing PAGE that you go to. If so, this is the plugin for you.
- (2025-06-01) Paying customer since years. The tool is slow and unresponsive. Creating or editing items always leads to 5-15 seconds of "loading". Super frustrating to work with.
- (2025-05-31) Embarrassing p.o.s. Used to work great ... but meanwhile you cannot even fill or autofill contents. What an embarassing pile of trash software. Just incredible
- (2025-05-29) This works great if you only have one 1password account. The minute you have to start juggling more than one, it becomes a nightmare. It's especially bad when your desktop 1password app and browser extension get out of sync. It's completely unrecoverable. It also sucks that you can't export the contents of a single vault. It's all or nothing.
- (2025-05-28) Not sure why this is so poorly reviewed, always works great for me. Yes, you have to go and disable the many other baked in password managers that are set by default... Google Chrome, Firefox, Apple, etc... but if 1password is set up right in this regard, it's excellent.
- (2025-05-28) Mostly Ok, however there are a few annoyances: - No easy way to force a refresh of the vault when a new credential was added from a different device. - No easy way to block the save prompt for specific sites (i.e. "never save" option) - Integration between the browser plugin and the Desktop client does not always work right
- (2025-05-23) Amazing! Seamless integration for pretty much any type of the secrets you may need.
- (2025-05-21) Every time there is a Chrome update in MacOS, which is very often, the extension logs you out. "You are asked to re-enter your password because Chrome has an update available." This means you need to be constantly entering your very secure and hard to guess credentials to unlock the extension. Even biometrics stop working. If you have one or two tabs open, no big deal, just restart Chrome. But if you have several windows open and multiple tabs it is a major PITA. You could dumb down your master password to something easy to remember and thus easy to enter every time 1P logs you out. But, easy to remember = easy to guess / crack. So what's the point of a 1Password extension in that case? I'm forced to rely on the desktop app to access my passwords. "Go ahead. Forget your passwords." is the latest marketing tagline. Hard to forget my password when I'm forced to constantly enter it in order to use the extension. Other password managers have no problem dealing with Chrome updates. Usability issues like this one is why this extension barely averages 3 stars.
