stinky poopy app, its smells

all the process is inefficient

Latest update to 1Password has caused links and dropdowns in Chrome to stop working. I have disabled the extension and the browser works correctly, so unable to use this extension until they fix it. Using latest Chrome version

One of the best password managers

Pretty good product. Bad customer service. I overall like the product, but customer service is slipshod. When I initiate a ticket it takes a couple of days to receive a response, typically asking for more information. I promptly send off the requested information...and then I hear nothing further from 1Password. One of my tickets involves the fact that 1Password does not populate the Dropbox login on an Android phone. Dropbox is a major app, so they should have figured this out. I've observed this failure on two different phones by two different manufacturers. This is an example of a ticket where the company has completely dropped the ball. To summarize: 1Password works well on a Windows browser, not so well on an Android phone, and support is pathetic. FOLLOW-UP I also agree with another reviewer. Sometimes when I'm filling in a field the app will get in the way, aggressively prompting me to generate a password or load the field into the app. This can obscure the text that I'm trying to enter into the field. There needs to be a way to quickly and easily tell the app to go quiet for a given field or web page.

I am a big fan of 1password. I might go so far as to say it is life-changing in a good way. Thank you team!

been using for more than 5 years; was working flawlessly across platforms and devices but all of a sudden it stopped synchronising between desktop app & chrome & edge.
Anonymous
Really poorly designed and non-functional extension. Pops up unnecessarily, doesn't save things properly, doesn't autofill things properly too.
Anonymous
Been using for years and highly recommend it!
Anonymous
Overall pleased with it, but lately the extension have started to bug out when it appears to suggest an update to a password, but its impossible to remove the overlay. I have to reload the page, often causing frustrating interruptions to my workflow.
Anonymous
You are stopping support ("combability") on older (pre Manifest 3) Chrome browser is mindbogglingly retarded. Guess you dont want our money anymore.
Anonymous
A terrible app. The master password suddenly stopped working. Then suddenly it works on their website and the next day it doesnt work anymore. not the mention the chrome extension stopped working for no reason
Anonymous
1Password is great. They provide a seamless experience that makes our lives so much easier.
Anonymous
Was a decent password manager, but spotty sometimes. It has now become totally unusable since some kind of update. Please fix ASAP, or I'll have to switch to a different manager.
Anonymous
I've been using it for 2+ years. Works pretty good
Anonymous
When it works, it's amazingly efficient. If only I didn't have to remove the extension and readd it on a regular basis to Chrome due to app freeze.
Anonymous
It's been working flawlessly for me across my apple, android, and Win 10 / 11 devices. I use the App as well as extensions for Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Brave. I've never had any of the troubles I've seen here with it freezing or slowing performance. It should be noted that I only use 6 extensions so I'm unlikely to see any extension conflicts that might be causing other users' problems. The upgrade process from LastPass worked fine.

broken after today's chrome update

Terrible extension and horrible product 1password. I 'm professionally forced , 2 year ago, to work with 1password. It is a two year nightmare. The extension crashes twice a week in Edge. In Chrome it freezes. If its one of those day it stays working, it doesn't do what it should do: provide easy logons.
Anonymous
Best app ever. I've had this app since it first launched, 15+ years and never considered an alternative. This extension works perfectly for me, just make sure your desktop version is unlocked. Support is fast and helpful.
Anonymous
Great password manager, for all use cases, be it TFA or regular username and password authentication.
Anonymous
Horrible extension. Stays locked and does not respond for 30+ minutes. Super slow when it does work. Unbelievable. Cant click into settings, disabling/re-enabling does nothing, reboots, browser clears, nothing helps except lighting the room on fire and trashing the extension. What year is it? Figure it out devs

Works extremely well. I love this app and extension

Restarted my account password 3 time by admin without being able to connect back. For real, this app is horrible.
Anonymous
Doesn't synchronize correctly among many other issues. You would think a paid for product would work correctly.

Since Dropbox Passwords is going away, I have no option, but to use the 1Password service. It is totally not useable after the trial expired, which is totally different from Dropbox platform itself.

Excellent product, have been using managers for years and this one stands out. Others aren't bad, but this one hits all the spots for me. Look no further.

The flow with adding a new account could be improved and the little tutorial they give could also be improved. In their own tutorial and elsewhere I believe, if you're entering a username you'll get a little pop-up with a button that says "Save in 1 pass" or something. If you follow that it will give you a new dialogue with the username and password, but in that case it doesn't seem to always let you have a new password generated for you. If instead of clicking on the original button you just go to the password field, it will let you generate a new password by clicking on another button... this seems to work better and is what I like to do. So I would recommend improving that flow a bit better. I still like and recommend 1Password (unless somebody is elderly because it can still be a little confusing), and it is miles better than LastPass which people should really move away from. LastPass's security can't really be trusted.

Used to be the best, now trash. AgileBits clearly doesn't care about this, which is crazy because Chrome plugins are not that hard to make and maintain.

What was once the best password manager is now a total mess. It used to just work and provide very easy access to the correct password for a site. Now it's wrong more than it's right and requires a bunch of clicks and navigating confusing dialogs to get to things like secure notes. Use the password manager built into MacOS, 1000x better.

Bro, your "Save in 1Password" dropdown is blocking most website's dropdown. Try to select an address from a dropdown, nope, your idiotic dropdown blocks 2 rows. Also this thing is not offering to save password on iOS. Literally unusable.
Anonymous
horrible extension not actually saving entries when using it.
Anonymous
Horribly inconvenient. Makes you constantly log back in. It has options to stay unlocked but only if you have the desktop app which does me no good on a Chromebook or phone. Uninstalling.
Anonymous
It is horrible! Doesn't matter what options I turn off, that popup offering to save password doesn't go away. I turned the notifications off, but it always asks to save password, even on OAuth screens where there are no passwords to save. I hate so much this extension and this service, but it is enforced in the company I work for.

I've had 1Password for over a year now, and while it serves basic needs, I find it cumbersome and sometimes impossible to figure out how to make it do what I need it to do. For instance, it used to autofill my credit card information, but now the card number is truncated and I can't get the edit to fix it. Frustrating. Other autofill features are not happening because I can't figure out how to make them work.

The recent update pegs the CPU at 100% in Chrome on MacOS, and makes quitting Chrome impossible without force-quit. Disabling the extension makes the problem go away, and re-enabling it brings it back so the problem is definitely with this extension.
Anonymous
dumb thing barely recognizes when theres a password to put in.
Anonymous
Have been using it for about 6 months and it's been great. However, on 6th August 2025, something changed and it appears that Microsoft 1Password will ONLY talk to Microsoft Edge. So the Chrome extension has suddenly become unusable.
Anonymous
Always has been fairly reliable. However whatever update happened, the GUI is much more unresponsive and requires more input
Anonymous
This extension is a life saver and works well. The key is to properly set up in the right order. First, install the app on your computer and log in, then install the extension. If needing to change user account for 1password, you have to delete the extension, delete the app, and look for the permanent files left behind by the app and delete it (search online for the name of the file that holds account info, find it in the hidden files in your computer and delete it). Then, reinstall it and login to the new account.
Anonymous
The extension works fine and it hasn't crashed at all. I'm happy with 1Password
Anonymous
Constant chrome keyboard shortcut issues make this extension the most troublesome that our company uses.
Anonymous
it continuosly crashed on chrome browser! Very frustrating having to repair it multiple times a day. Great when it doesnt crash though.

I've been using 1Password for years. I love the app. But the latest plugin update made its performance worse. - The autofill from the plugin doesn't instantly work. I always had to reload a web page everytime I need to use it. - The plugin doesn't automatically sync. I had to uninstall and re-install it again just for new data from the app to show up. - Saving new password from the plugin just won't work. When I entered new password to a web page, a pop-up appeared offering to save it but it always failed and I ended up having to save the password manually from the app. It supposed to help with productivity but it ended up making me doing extra work.
Anonymous
I don't recommand it. It crashes a lot, and you had to reinstall it. When it doesn't crash it works SOMETIMES :-( If you're not in luck, and autofill doesn't work, you had to use the desktop application.
Anonymous
I've used 1password for many many years. It works well. I don't know what some others are talking about it being slow and having to login a bunch (there are settings for that.)
Anonymous
Not great. Can be hard to use, has issue with auto populating passwords, and the UI is poorly designed.
Anonymous
Works, but OMG is this thing soooooooooo slow!
Anonymous
Has been very stable for over a year. Recently after installing the Beta (then unstalled and reinstalled not beta) ongoing problems. 1. With Beta Chrome kept crashing. 2. With Not Beta the extension keeps getting corrupted and needs repair. Which occasionally causes chrome to crash.. Other times it works okay until it needs repair. I barely have any extensions the only new one I have is McAfee. I am now testing by not having McAfee active to see if that solves the issue. Even if it does browsing without proetction from a leading Antivirus company is not good. Supports test involves using a new not signed in Chrome profile but can't tell me how I actually get through my day without my bookmarks, google apps like calendar and contacts etc. So...not doing that test.
