Détecte et met en garde l'utilisateur contre des sites connus pour republier illégalement des mods.
La violation de droits d'auteurs est une situation quotidienne pour les moddeurs. La plus part des mods suffisamment populaires aujourd'hui ont été, à un moment, copié illégalement et redistribué sur un site tiers, sans aucune reconnaissance ou permission de leurs véritables développeurs. Beaucoup de ces sites internet sont hébergés au Vietnam ou en Russie, et sont difficiles à fermer à cause des différentes législations relatives aux droits d'auteurs. Un grand nombre de ces sites monétise illégalement leurs liens de téléchargement pour gagner de l'argent sur le travail acharné des moddeurs, et une grande partie vont jusqu'à revendiquer illégalement la propriété du contenu en question. Certains sont connus pour héberger des logiciels malveillants et autres virus et prétendent que ceux-ci sont des vrais mods sans danger. Il faut que cela cesse.
Lorsque les requêtes de DMCA et les demandes de suppression échouent, nous dépendons de la communauté pour empêcher les personnes de télécharger des mods de ces sources. Cependant, un grand nombre de ces sites internet ont l'air très bien conçus et officiels, trompant énormément de joueurs en leur faisant croire que ces sites sont authentiques. En conséquence, de nombreuses machines sont infectées par des virus et autres malwares, les moddeurs perdent leurs revenus et leur réputation et sont spammés avec rapports de bugs qui ont été déjà corrigés dans les nouvelles versions de leurs mods, puisque seules les anciennes versions sont hébergées sur les sites illégaux. Stop Mod Reposts est conçu pour mettre un terme à cela. Voici comment nous prévoyons de faire:
- Faire savoir aux gens que ces sites sont illégaux. Il n'y a aucun moyen d'empêcher les gens d'utiliser ces sites quand ils ignorent que les actions de l'hébergeur sont contraires à la loi et que l'hôte ignore les droits des moddeurs. Par conséquent, cette extension affichera une surcouche lorsque vous naviguez sur un site comme celui-ci.
- Faire savoir aux personnes que visiter ces sites met leur ordinateur en danger. Personne ne veut être infecté par un logiciel malveillant, donc nous les avertirons que ces sites peuvent endommager leurs machines.
Les sites dont cette extension met en garde sont listés sur https://github.com/StopModReposts/Illegal-Mod-Sites, cette liste est mise à jour tout les quelques jours voir quelques heures avec de nouvelles adresses.

Love to see the community doing something about this, I can't count the amount of times I've seen friends download from these sites and their machines are infected and then they never try modded again (and a younger more naïve version of me may have done the same in the past). Great extension to just let run and then forget about.

A useful feature, I dunno how easy it'd be to implement, but when you go to a certain repost site, there is an option to redirect to the legitimate mod download. I know this'd probably be a pain to implement each individual site though.
