- (2025-07-02) Absolutely no user related issues - accessing through Edge and Chrome with no problems. Happy with needing to log in after periods of no use (good security measures) Easy to navigate between company vaults and my own private vault Best part - i only have to remember 1 password
- (2025-06-29) Annoying browser issue makes it frequently unusable saying unable to login due to Chrome update. Even after updating Chrome and restarting browser the issue still does not resolve itself. Have to reinstall extension is the only way.
- (2025-06-27) I've installed this extension to not have to type my passwords anymore, yet I have to type my master password all the time!!! Its a total fail, it should be working along with the Windows app and be unlocked if I unlock the app with my PIN but is not. Is locked all the time so I have to save my password in a text note and copy it all the time
- (2025-06-24) Hard to navigate. I use the basic info in password but auto fill and other enhancements are difficult to complete. Online help is not immediate and by the time I try to resolve an issue Ive moved on to other projects requiring my attention
- (2025-06-24) Just doesn't work well or consistently. There are always some issues or bugs. Last 4 months it just wouldn't open at all for new passwords. You could get the old saved ones to fill into websites okay but wouldn't let me save any new ones because of some "can't connect to server" error. Reached out to the helpdesk and they said it may be because I'm not connected to the internet (LOL). FIx the bugs and make it run as seamlessly as Google Password manager and maybe then your extension will have more than 3 star-rating...
- (2025-06-23) Will change to 5 star when the browser extension login issue is resolved. Very annoying.
- (2025-06-20) Switched from Dashlane—can these two even be compared? Even if Dashlane were free, 1Password would still offer better value for what you pay. This app just works—and it works really well across all devices.
- (2025-06-16) Works well but so annoying because of the thousands of time it need a login in a day
- (2025-06-12) I need to delete and reinstall the extension almost every other day. Also, it would be helpful to have an option to hide the autofill on certain pages (not sites or domains but temporary), as it currently blocks autocomplete inputs like addresses and other similar fields.
- (2025-06-10) Does not even sync; takes really really long to show new entries that were added on other devices. What a terrible product. Continuous deterioration since 1password 7.
- (2025-06-08) Just doesn't work well. I have to click on the Chrome Extension three times to get fingerprint access. First time nothing happens. The second time it asks for the password. The third time I get the fingerprint option. So annoying I've ended up reverting to the Apple passwords app and extension on the Mac.
- (2025-06-06) Extension often fails to add passwords even when 1Password desktop is logged in. Clicking on the extension button in Chrome in these instances causes my whole system to freeze requiring hard reset.
- (2025-06-04) In addition to all the bugs withe the extension you cannot choose your email alias or mask provider or bring your domain, like in Bitwarden or Proton. They scam you into FastMail, which is the only option starting at $60/year, from which they get a cut. I would love to be able to choose my own provider with an API key like Addy, Duck, or Firefox.
- (2025-06-04) Extension breaks on Google chrome every day, and you have to delete and download every time. Computer and browser are up to date, fix it been weeks now
- (2025-06-03) Impossible to log in. And I write this as a media professional, a digital native used to working with all sorts of software/platforms
- (2025-06-02) Shows a completely blank white screen for an unlimited amount of time, including after quitting and restarting Chrome.
- (2025-06-02) Don't get a new device or reset your device. You will loose the ability to autofill or even find your apps from the extension. Garbage app.
- (2025-06-02) Hey, do you want a plugin that puts a popup over text fields so you can no longer see what you're typing? On EVERY ^&£*ing PAGE that you go to. If so, this is the plugin for you.
- (2025-06-01) Paying customer since years. The tool is slow and unresponsive. Creating or editing items always leads to 5-15 seconds of "loading". Super frustrating to work with.
- (2025-05-31) Embarrassing p.o.s. Used to work great ... but meanwhile you cannot even fill or autofill contents. What an embarassing pile of trash software. Just incredible
- (2025-05-29) This works great if you only have one 1password account. The minute you have to start juggling more than one, it becomes a nightmare. It's especially bad when your desktop 1password app and browser extension get out of sync. It's completely unrecoverable. It also sucks that you can't export the contents of a single vault. It's all or nothing.
- (2025-05-28) Not sure why this is so poorly reviewed, always works great for me. Yes, you have to go and disable the many other baked in password managers that are set by default... Google Chrome, Firefox, Apple, etc... but if 1password is set up right in this regard, it's excellent.
- (2025-05-28) Mostly Ok, however there are a few annoyances: - No easy way to force a refresh of the vault when a new credential was added from a different device. - No easy way to block the save prompt for specific sites (i.e. "never save" option) - Integration between the browser plugin and the Desktop client does not always work right
- (2025-05-23) Amazing! Seamless integration for pretty much any type of the secrets you may need.
- (2025-05-21) Every time there is a Chrome update in MacOS, which is very often, the extension logs you out. "You are asked to re-enter your password because Chrome has an update available." This means you need to be constantly entering your very secure and hard to guess credentials to unlock the extension. Even biometrics stop working. If you have one or two tabs open, no big deal, just restart Chrome. But if you have several windows open and multiple tabs it is a major PITA. You could dumb down your master password to something easy to remember and thus easy to enter every time 1P logs you out. But, easy to remember = easy to guess / crack. So what's the point of a 1Password extension in that case? I'm forced to rely on the desktop app to access my passwords. "Go ahead. Forget your passwords." is the latest marketing tagline. Hard to forget my password when I'm forced to constantly enter it in order to use the extension. Other password managers have no problem dealing with Chrome updates. Usability issues like this one is why this extension barely averages 3 stars.
- (2025-05-19) Constantly requires you to sign back in. You spend far more time fiddling with this broken and painful extension than you could ever save. They have plenty of competitors who do this seamlessly without issue, I recommend trying one of them instead.
- (2025-05-17) "unable to save", "unable to load"
- (2025-05-14) constantly having to restart MAC b/c the extension will not grant access due to the desktop app screwing up. Lets restart and have to spend 20 minutes starting all my processes again b/c if this stupid app. Again having to restart after laptop sat over weekend doing nothing Apparently known issue. Find another password manager
- (2025-05-04) I can't enable the "activate on click" mode, to avoid the constant popup spamming from 1 Password. If I do, it starts being buggy
- (2025-05-02) I asked pport team to contact me - still waiting!
- (2025-05-01) Very buggy extension, I constantly have to re-enter my password.
- (2025-04-29) Would it be possible to add fingerprint unlock to the web version as well, like in the app? It used to be available on the website too, but now we have to enter the password every time, which is quite inconvenient. Thank you!
- (2025-04-29) The extension has gotten worse the last year or so. Many times, I have to enter my password several times.
- (2025-04-26) Stopped working. Now it doesn't show anything when I press it.
- (2025-04-23) works great
- (2025-04-22) Anton Trapp: 2025/04 update: this extension can not be loaded (Chrome based browsers). So: when using 1password you have to copy/paste all credentials manually. 1password was - imho - the best password manager. Used it on Mac and Windows, many different browers. But it is getting worse every year. Chrome extension: enter all 3 super-secure things every few months, then you get an extension that in 50% of the cases can fill forms, in the others it can't. The sync is getting worse month by month - use the Chrom plugin, click edit, edit something and - it NEVER ever will sync. Not even on the same PC. Using notepad.exe has now the same comfort level. And I do NOT rate it bad because you have to pay for it, it was absolutely worth the money, now it's to bad to even consider it if it would be free.
- (2025-04-18) Edit with a change in rating and clarification on the fingerprint unlock problem: This extension's integration with MacOS fingerprint unlock is haphazard, poor, and amateurish at best. The extension seems to randomly decide when the fingerprint unlock for it won't work. Then you have to do the equivalent of a nuclear missile launch authorization to get the fingerprint unlock to work again (quit this, then quit that, then open this first, then open that second...). This fingerprint unlock problem, which other people have experienced and which 1Password is obviously unable or unwilling to fix, negatively affects the extension's user experience (UX). Frustrating and weird that I have to type in my password (which is long, because, well, it's for my password manager) every time to use the extension, despite having a FINGERPRINT UNLOCK FEATURE right there on my keyboard and in the extension. Reduced my rating from 2-star to 1-star because of the annoyingly persistent nature of this problem (years), which 1Password should have fixed by now. Not a good look. Also, there's a completely unacceptable lag time for updates to sync between the extension and the desktop app. Why is there this lag? 1Password needs to be open about how long it can take to sync updates between the extension and the desktop app, and not pretend it's always an automatic sync.
- (2025-04-15) A truly horrible extension and a truly horrible application.
- (2025-04-14) Required to use this extension by my organization. Its the worst extension I've ever used. Its constantly requiring you to click windows that it hides or doesn't provide focus for. When you finally login you need to find your browser tab you started in after completing SSO login. Sometimes the login for the desktop app is just unresponsive. Would never recommend this to anyone, its the least productive tool I've ever had installed.
- (2025-04-14) When I try to search for a password, extension crashes.
- (2025-04-11) ״Needed to restart" every few days, resets all settings. Buggy. UI is not intuitive.
- (2025-04-09) Works great, why does this have such low ratings lol
- (2025-04-09) Not a Fan. Very confusing
- (2025-04-06) 1Password was once a really great application, now becomes super annoying. Unlocking becomes a pain, sometimes does not open the FingerPrint Dialog or very very long interrupting me processes. A major value of a password manager is lost, if I'm faster to enter the password myself
- (2025-04-04) Migrated from LastPass. I like it much more for: - more convinient auto-fill - fast UI - Windows native App - support for Windows Hello
- (2025-03-31) Constantly need to reinstall the extension, haven't been able to sync it with the macOS app in months.
- (2025-03-25) I don't understand all the negative reviews, this extension works great.
- (2025-03-24) 1Password has kept my passwords safe for well over a decade now. Some of these bad reviews appear to be from users that don't bother to read the instructions. Some of the browser related issues appear to be from users that don't understand how extensions work.
- (2025-03-23) This extension hardly ever works now. There's constant errors popping up and it manages to lose your newly created passwords on occasion.
- (2025-03-22) Pathetic buggy trash. Whenever I open the extension and start typing to search for a login, after about 3 keystrokes, it automatically locks. Beyond pathetic. Fire your overpaid engineers.
