Rileva e avverte i siti noti per ripubblicare illegalmente le mod.
La violazione del copyright è una situazione quotidiana per i modder. La maggior parte delle mod un po' popolari oggi sono state ad un certo punto copiate illegalmente e ridistribuite su un sito di terze parti, senza alcun riconoscimento o permesso dei loro sviluppatori. Molti di questi siti sono ospitati in Vietnam o in Russia, e sono difficili da abbattere a causa della diversa legislazione sul copyright. Molti di questi siti monetizzano illegalmente i loro link di download per guadagnare denaro dal duro lavoro dei modder, e molti arrivano persino a rivendicare la proprietà del contenuto illegale. Alcuni di loro sono noti per ospitare malware e virus e affermano che si tratta di mod reali e innocui. Questo deve finire.
Quando i DMCA e gli avvisi di ritiro falliscono, dobbiamo fare affidamento sulla comunità per impedire alle persone di scaricare mods da queste fonti. Tuttavia, molti dei siti web che si impegnano nel tipo di attività descritta sopra sembrano molto ben progettati e ufficiali, confondendo molti giocatori e facendo loro credere che questi siti siano in realtà quelli veri. Come risultato, molte macchine sono infettate da virus e malware, i modder perdono introiti e reputazione e vengono spammati con rapporti su bug che sono già stati risolti in versioni più recenti dei loro mod, poiché solo le vecchie versioni sono ospitate sui siti illegali. Stop Mod Reposts è progettato per fermare questo. Ecco come abbiamo intenzione di farlo:
- Far sapere alla gente che i siti sono illegali. Non c'è modo di impedire alle persone di usare questi siti quando non sanno che le azioni dell'host sono contro la legge e che l'host ignora i diritti dei modder. Pertanto, questa estensione mostrerà un overlay quando si naviga in un sito come questo.
- Far sapere alla gente che visitare questi siti mette a rischio i loro computer. Nessuno vuole essere infettato da malware, quindi li avvertiremo che i siti possono potenzialmente danneggiare le loro macchine.
I siti di cui questa estensione avverte sono gli stessi che sono elencati su https://github.com/StopModReposts/Illegal-Mod-Sites e viene aggiornato ogni pochi giorni o ore con nuovi host.

Love to see the community doing something about this, I can't count the amount of times I've seen friends download from these sites and their machines are infected and then they never try modded again (and a younger more naïve version of me may have done the same in the past). Great extension to just let run and then forget about.

A useful feature, I dunno how easy it'd be to implement, but when you go to a certain repost site, there is an option to redirect to the legitimate mod download. I know this'd probably be a pain to implement each individual site though.
