Deze oogzorgextensie heeft een nachtstand die automatisch donkere thema's maakt voor websites. Donkere modus keert lichte kleuren om voor goede leesbaarheid 's nachts.
Je kunt de helderheid, het contrast, het kleurenfilter, de donkere modus, het lettertype en de lijst van te negeren websites geheel instellen naar wens.
We kunnen je vragen om de ontwikkeling van de app te ondersteunen met een donatie. Mogelijk ziet u nieuws over Dark Reader in de pop-up met instellingen. Er zijn Developer Tools voor ervaren gebruikers.
Dark Reader laat nooit advertenties zien en gebruikt nooit je gegevens. Deze extensie is volledig open-source op https://github.com/darkreader/darkreader

- You will never have to turn this extension off or adjust settings from not being able to read or see a website, and it works the best out of all the others currently available on Chrome. The only thing I can't get to go into dark mode is my system Information page, which has nothing to do with this extension. But it will give you a tan if you keep it open for more than 10 seconds. drunk driving in reverse.

- This plugin is rather frustrating. Dark Reader inverts its basic setting (ON/OFF) after about one hour for most websites. Chrome just sits there and the problem appears without any interaction. Also after every restart of Google Chrome. So (almost) each website that you want in dark mode is bright again, and vice versa. Customer service won't react, even after several inquiries via email. Therefore Dark Reader is just annoying, I have to say.

- Worked great for months but recently its blacking out certain text until I hover over it. Like text links, menus, calendars on specific websites. So I had to disable it unfortunately.

- Fundamental extension to have. There are rarely ever any glitches/maladapting's of the dark mode to pages! I discovered Dark Reader as a Chrome user circa 2019 more or less, using it predominantly on PCs. Winter 2025 I switched from Samsung Internet to FireFox for Android from the Play store, & downloaded the Dark Reader extension there too. I LOVE the dark & light mode color schemes customization available there, hope to see it here on Chrome soon too!

- I have noticed that some websites are significantly slowed down by the extension (despite having a very powerful computer), for example sora.com or leboncoin.fr

- 11/13/2025 - eBay site is now broken when using this. None of the minor details of the account information can be seen. I use this site daily and will be donating in the hopes that this can help fix the issue. Still the best extension for dark mode. Thanks

- I'm having issues using dark reader with google docs. Sometimes pages bug out and don't let me edit using certain functionalities without turning off dark mode and using those functions without dark mode. For instance, I can't use the highlight feature or the bulletin point features if a certain glitch occurs.

- Attempting to open any settings popup or page, I am greeted by the page continuously loading, without an error. Tested on two devices, both running on the latest chrome canary builds (issue appearing within the past 3 days, so i added an s). Obviously, I blame myself for using a version of chrome, bound to be broken in unexpected ways. but i wanted to mention that there is an issue, even if its caused by someone else. The extension works as expected on firefox/librewolf! (Also, yes, I did put a low review, but its just one that will be adjusted in a couple days <3. Thats not how i normally feel about the extension, keep up the good work!)

- This extension is very useful and easy to use, so far I have not found any bugs or issues while using this extension, I used to change dark theme extensions periodically to find the best dark theme extension, but I did not find any extension like this

- Works, but only if you enjoy getting begged by the Dev for money EVERYTIME it updates. There are less annoying ones out there.

- This sometimes works. Other times there are websites with white text on a light background like yellow, which is impossible for me to read. This extension doesn't allow me to change the text color to something readable or change the light background to a darker color in those areas.

- While this might have the best result, it actually slows down browsing speed by more than %50. I did a speedometer test and was getting 23 speed, but with this extension turned on, I got only 11.

- This breaks old.reddit.com, not sure about the new site. The search field is no longer usable, and the comments are either unreadable or the box is all white which defeats the purpose of using this, especially at night.

- I've been enjoying this extension for a long time, but I noticed that after upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, the extension breaks my ability to use old reddit. With the extension enabled on old reddit, the buttons to create a new thread are unclickable. Hopefully this can be fixed in an update, but in the mean time, I'm forced to use a different dark mode extension.

- Works perfectly. The custom settings for each website is a very nice feature to have; compared to the default dark mode available on Chrome flags.

- It's cool for what it is, but there are a number of websites that become unreadable, or dark logos/PNGs will be practically invisible. I find myself having to disable it, because the dark theme can make it hard to focus for reasons I can't fully comprehend aside from the extra work it takes to understand what you're reading with mismatched colors. Good concept, but there is room for growth.

- The hidden Flags Experiment page in google chrome had a way to turn on dark mode but some things were always screwed up. Today even more was screwed up and i couldn't get it normal so looked for a chrome extension... found some but u pay for them (YEARLY..... LOL), now i found this. I've seen some people say it made the browser slow. Get a better pc. It works fine... In fact this worked out perfect, dark mode on everything, ways to turn it off for specific sites that don't need it if it doesn't auto detect a dark mode (or not a mode but just a dark background to begin with), even more filtering you can do just for a specific site (worked out great for the FFXIV wiki page). And you CAN pay them, if you want to.... kinda like the popular ad blockers. but this isn't a trial version then you have to pay like others. 5 stars
