Dark Reader

It's cool for what it is, but there are a number of websites that become unreadable, or dark logos/PNGs will be practically invisible. I find myself having to disable it, because the dark theme can make it hard to focus for reasons I can't fully comprehend aside from the extra work it takes to understand what you're reading with mismatched colors. Good concept, but there is room for growth.

The hidden Flags Experiment page in google chrome had a way to turn on dark mode but some things were always screwed up. Today even more was screwed up and i couldn't get it normal so looked for a chrome extension... found some but u pay for them (YEARLY..... LOL), now i found this. I've seen some people say it made the browser slow. Get a better pc. It works fine... In fact this worked out perfect, dark mode on everything, ways to turn it off for specific sites that don't need it if it doesn't auto detect a dark mode (or not a mode but just a dark background to begin with), even more filtering you can do just for a specific site (worked out great for the FFXIV wiki page). And you CAN pay them, if you want to.... kinda like the popular ad blockers. but this isn't a trial version then you have to pay like others. 5 stars

This extension is a 100% must have. A total game changer.

WORST PRODUCT EVER IT DOESNT LET YOU DISABLE IT IF YOU DO IT MESSES UP THE ORIGINAL COLOR OF WEBSITES

Not good. Even when turning it off, it messes with pages. Things happen when you're messing with the controls, but as soon as you click off, things go wonky. This one needs a lot more time in the oven.

This extension is mid at best. It does its job when it has to, but overall feels unpolished and not well thought-out. For example on Google Docs, it will successfully enable dark mode for the document editor by inverting the colors, but that includes the highlighter colors, so other people will view the highlight with the inverse color. (Ex: bright yellow will become dark blue for others.) Overall this extension isn't bad, but neither good. I'd be happy to be proven wrong in the future, but for now this is underperforming for an extension with 5,000,000+ users.

Does exactly what is says on the tin. Dark mode is not available for all websites but this amazing tool means it IS now an option for every website! Great stuff.

Not free, misleading. Excuse me? Can they be upfront make it as paid apps instead of mislead like this? I can straight up ignore this extension and not seeing this 'new page popup' after I install 'free extensions'.

This is so far the best extension for dark mode some sites, including Pinterest, perfectly tho.

Chrome kept freezing and crashing the last few days when watching streams or clips on twitch, youtube stopped working completely, turns out this extension was the problem. It works again after putting these 2 sites to the ignore list. So if you also have problems with youtube and twitch or other sites, see if this extension is the problem.

At first, it worked fine. But lately, it’s been causing issues. In dark mode, every time a new site loads, there’s a sudden white flash before it switches to dark, which feels unpleasant and strains the eyes. This problem was exactly why I avoided using lightweight userscripts and relied on an extension instead—but now even that is failing.

Amazing, my retinas thank you forever

I'm having a problem with google chat's icons: they get rendered as text rather than a dark mode icon, resulting in being impossible to use google chat. Hope y' all fix it soon, best dark mode plugin out there!

Love this extension. Have used it for years, and it keeps getting better! I'm happy to report that it works excellently with my preferred browser, Wavebox.

Contains harmful malware - my PC was attacked several times while using this extension. Mind you, I have had this PC for several years without any problem

Sometimes it bugs out and darkens the screen even when it's turned off. Worse, the screen gets darkened in a bugged manner, with various elements not darkening/inverted to white properly.

It's really buggy, both on Brave and Librewolf. It also shamelessly begs you for money when you install it. Go to chrome://flags and enable Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents. It's not perfect but at least it doesn't crash the page or show an unresponsive pop-up.

It glitches turns my screen black very frequently when turned on. I even had to restart my computer to remove this.
