YOUR PRIVACY, OUR PRIORITY: A Transparent Look at How Our Extension Works
When you install our extension, Chrome will warn you that it can read and change your data on the websites you visit. But let's break it down:
Our extension works like a pair of sunglasses for your browser. It looks at the colors on a webpage and tweaks them to create a smooth, eye-friendly dark mode. Just like sunglasses need to 'see' the light to filter it, our extension needs to 'see' the webpage colors to adjust them.
But here's the key point: we don't collect or store any of your data. Think of us like a paid TV service. You subscribe, enjoy the service (in our case, a great dark mode experience), and that's it. We don't sell your data - your privacy stays intact.

PRIVACY MATTERS: Here's How We Handle Your Data
We believe in transparency and want to explain our approach to privacy in the simplest terms. We don't use third-party analytics like Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data when you're using our extension.
What we do store are your personalized settings for each website you visit using Night Eye. These settings are saved locally on your computer (localStorage), not on our servers. - awesome extension. No hassel to use at all. Only complaint is on some webpages its blacks out buttons but that might just be user error. I haven't played around with the customization tools. All around fantastic extension. Would recommend for anyone with light sensitivity
- Celeste Gallegos
- Love this extension! It automatically converts any page I visit to dark mode. Love that I can also adjust the settings.
- Lennart Nilsen

- Able to transition with ease and is incredibly useful for someone with astigmatism that looks at a screen all day for work. I am very thankful my coworker told me about this extension as the one I was using before hand was not nearly as user friendly and the color scheme it applied to some sites was very displeasing to the eye, so I enjoy how it looks after conversion compared to my previous extension.

- Night Eye is arguably one of the best dark mode browser extensions available on the Chrome Web Store right now. After spending some time with it, it’s pretty clear why it has such a huge following and positive reputation. First off, the interface is clean and easy to use. You can quickly switch between Dark, Filtered, and Normal modes depending on your needs. In the Dark mode, websites actually look great—Night Eye doesn’t just invert the colors like a lot of extensions do. Instead, it uses its own way of adjusting colors so pages remain comfortable to read and images/icons don’t look strange or washed out. I love how flexible the settings are. You can adjust brightness, contrast, blue light, and more, all either globally or just for specific sites. This comes in handy for those stubborn sites that don’t play nice with dark mode by default. The extension also follows your system dark mode setting, which is convenient. On the privacy front, Night Eye is transparent. All your preferences are kept on your computer, not sent out to some random server. There’s a free version if you only want to use it on a handful of sites; if you need more, it’s a pretty small yearly fee for the Pro version, which unlocks everything. Performance-wise, I didn’t notice any lag on my machine—even with multiple tabs open. Occasionally, a page might load in light mode for a split second before the extension kicks in, but that’s about it. Most popular websites work flawlessly, though you might hit the occasional weird element on lesser-known sites.

- Saved my eyes from long hours of studying. I already have extreme difficulty with glasses and reflections, and not the clearest visual accuity. White backgrounds on google slides burn my eyes and make it harder for me to read. This is amazing! And it's free !
- Kashaf Korabu
- works great on all websites for me and 80% on pw.live website.(Text in lecture name get hide in dark theme)

- I've been using Night Eye for several months now. It's been awesome. It turns sites into dark mode without ruining images or causing artifacts. The controls are granular and very intuitive. I have thoroughly enjoyed the set-and-forget default dark mode and rarely ever have to do much, Night Eye is so integrated into my browsing now, that seeing sites in light mode feels foreign. Kudos to the developers.

- I usually work on my laptop late at night, and my eyes used to hurt a lot. I tried Night Eye because I was looking for something to reduce the strain, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if it would really help. But after a few days of using it, I noticed a big difference — my eyes don’t feel as tired or sore anymore. The dark mode works great on sites like Google and YouTube. It’s not 100% perfect, but overall I’m really happy with it!
- Vineet Garg

- Apoll02
- Doesn't break elements of web pages such as images, like so many other dark mode extensions do. Also, has a much nicer dark gray color as opposed to the pure black of others, which is almost as uncomfortable as the white.
- Katherine Olson

- I can see why this extension is used, The Nighteye extension is absolutely fantastic for anyone who loves using dark mode,It works flawlessly on sites like 4chan, Wikipedia, and countless others, giving every page a sleek, comfortable dark theme without breaking layouts or images. Unlike other extensions, Nighteye keeps colors balanced and text easy to read, making late-night browsing so much easier on the eyes. The setup is super simple, and you can fine-tune brightness and contrast to your liking. It’s smooth, fast, and incredibly reliable across all websites. - I like night eye, it's a great all around dark mode solution. I like that they offer an outright purchase vs a subscription.
- lilli
- pretty good tbh
- İlkay Baydemir
- Currently the best night mode extension by far. Dark Reader slows down your browser if you're working/surfing for a long time but I had no issues with this one so far.
- P F
- Just downloaded this extension and currently fiddling around with the settings figuring it all out. So far so good, no complaints at all. I will be disappointed to not be able to continue to use it once the trial runs out. With that said, the reason for 4 stars is due to the amount of "bribing" should we say, in order to gain a longer trial period. You have to do several things for them, advertising the extension, which I didn't really want to do being someone who does not use social media and therefore had to use my sisters but nevertheless - it's posted and provided proof of this as they ask. One other thing I forgot to mention is when you initially download the extension, it says - "Enjoy your FREE 2 months of Night Eye Pro" .. HOWEVER, in the overview where it goes over pricing, they claim: "We also offer a free 3-month trial of Night Eye Pro. No credit card or payment required - just install and explore." so this is a bit confusing regarding how long of a trial you get, without the added months on if you decide to participate in their survey, advertisement on social medias etc. Good extension so far just a few confusions that need clearing up imo!

- ATM IS GOOD EX.

- Probably the best dark mode extension that I've used on Google Chrome, as it's the most versatile and adapts to the most websites. I have tested a few, and this one seems to look the best and handles most websites very well automatically. Very thankful!
