Night Eye enables dark mode on nearly all websites and gives you the ability to control the built-in dark themes on those that have it.
Trusted by more than 300 000 users across all major browser, Night Eye is the right choice for your eyes. Smart conversion, no ads, no data mining, helpful support!
We update the extensions regularly on a monthly basis for the past 3 years and plan to do that for a very long time ahead.
If the website has built-in dark theme, you can control it directly from Night Eye and if it doesn't (like Gmail, Google Docs, Office Online, Github and millions others), Night Eye will convert the colors to provide you with smooth and consistent dark mode.
For Those with Privacy Concern
Chrome will alert you that the extension may read and change all your data on the websites that you visit.
Here is the whole story:
This extension analyses the colors of each webpage and converts them in order to give you a smooth and consistent dark mode. There is no other way the extension can convert the colors without the privilege to access them.
However, we never collect any of your data. Our business model relies on subscriptions and not on storing and selling your data. Last but not least, we are also internet users and don’t want to be evil.
From Chrome version 86, all new extensions are now hidden into the “extensions” menu next to the url bar. In order to bring Night Eye’s icon out, you need to pin it. For more details check the screenshots above.
Our extension is fully compatible with the latest manifest V3. There is only some restrictions.

- I spend a lot of time on my computer, often late at night, and the bright white screens were causing a lot of eye strain. I decided to try the Night Eye extension, and it has been a game-changer/great help for my browsing experience. What I love most is how the extension doesn't just invert colors like some other options. It uses a smart color conversion that makes websites actually look good and readable, without making images or icons look weird. It works seamlessly on almost every site I visit. The customization options are also a big plus; I can adjust the brightness and add a blue light filter which really helps my eyes.

- well. i mean, it works. and i appreciate that it it allows the opportunity for you to extend your free full-access subscription trial further by an additional month for fulfilling each of every one of the provided 'offers' in which you may choose to partake (I.E.; such as, perhaps, maybe writing and publishing a review on the Chrome Web Store... but that's just what only a hypothetical example of this could be...). i will now only have one 'offer' that i have left available to extend my free trial after i post this review, and i have zero intention of actually continuing with the paid subscription. so, here's to my final 60 days folks. godspeed.

- hey it works

- It's a good extension. I only want to really use it for a few websites, so the free 5 websites only works well. However... it is extremely screwy with Wikipedia, and I don't know why. It isn't set to make Wikipedia dark mode, but it constantly refreshes Wikipedia to a point where I have to turn the extension off if I am using Wikipedia. Please fix this Developers!

- awesome extension. No hassel to use at all. Only complaint is on some webpages its blacks out buttons but that might just be user error. I haven't played around with the customization tools. All around fantastic extension. Would recommend for anyone with light sensitivity
- Celeste Gallegos
- Love this extension! It automatically converts any page I visit to dark mode. Love that I can also adjust the settings.
- Lennart Nilsen
- It works, but they want money. I'll use something else, thanks.

- bless this app for sparing my eyes from being flashbanged. 😔🙏 10/10, would recommend.
- Amanda Torres-Sabrsula
- Able to transition with ease and is incredibly useful for someone with astigmatism that looks at a screen all day for work. I am very thankful my coworker told me about this extension as the one I was using before hand was not nearly as user friendly and the color scheme it applied to some sites was very displeasing to the eye, so I enjoy how it looks after conversion compared to my previous extension.

- Night Eye is arguably one of the best dark mode browser extensions available on the Chrome Web Store right now. After spending some time with it, it’s pretty clear why it has such a huge following and positive reputation. First off, the interface is clean and easy to use. You can quickly switch between Dark, Filtered, and Normal modes depending on your needs. In the Dark mode, websites actually look great—Night Eye doesn’t just invert the colors like a lot of extensions do. Instead, it uses its own way of adjusting colors so pages remain comfortable to read and images/icons don’t look strange or washed out. I love how flexible the settings are. You can adjust brightness, contrast, blue light, and more, all either globally or just for specific sites. This comes in handy for those stubborn sites that don’t play nice with dark mode by default. The extension also follows your system dark mode setting, which is convenient. On the privacy front, Night Eye is transparent. All your preferences are kept on your computer, not sent out to some random server. There’s a free version if you only want to use it on a handful of sites; if you need more, it’s a pretty small yearly fee for the Pro version, which unlocks everything. Performance-wise, I didn’t notice any lag on my machine—even with multiple tabs open. Occasionally, a page might load in light mode for a split second before the extension kicks in, but that’s about it. Most popular websites work flawlessly, though you might hit the occasional weird element on lesser-known sites.

- Saved my eyes from long hours of studying. I already have extreme difficulty with glasses and reflections, and not the clearest visual accuity. White backgrounds on google slides burn my eyes and make it harder for me to read. This is amazing! And it's free !

- works great on all websites for me and 80% on pw.live website.(Text in lecture name get hide in dark theme)

- I've been using Night Eye for several months now. It's been awesome. It turns sites into dark mode without ruining images or causing artifacts. The controls are granular and very intuitive. I have thoroughly enjoyed the set-and-forget default dark mode and rarely ever have to do much, Night Eye is so integrated into my browsing now, that seeing sites in light mode feels foreign. Kudos to the developers.
- Qzleh Ms
- I usually work on my laptop late at night, and my eyes used to hurt a lot. I tried Night Eye because I was looking for something to reduce the strain, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if it would really help. But after a few days of using it, I noticed a big difference — my eyes don’t feel as tired or sore anymore. The dark mode works great on sites like Google and YouTube. It’s not 100% perfect, but overall I’m really happy with it!

- Apoll02
- Doesn't break elements of web pages such as images, like so many other dark mode extensions do. Also, has a much nicer dark gray color as opposed to the pure black of others, which is almost as uncomfortable as the white.

- I can see why this extension is used, The Nighteye extension is absolutely fantastic for anyone who loves using dark mode,It works flawlessly on sites like 4chan, Wikipedia, and countless others, giving every page a sleek, comfortable dark theme without breaking layouts or images. Unlike other extensions, Nighteye keeps colors balanced and text easy to read, making late-night browsing so much easier on the eyes.
